Summary
Ghost is a monster, a fiend, that tore its way from the earth and now lives and thrives in shadow and violence. Sergeant MacTavish is the exact opposite, Ghost thinks. A part of Ghost still hates Soap, even though they worked well together during the mission. It's certainly better than entertaining the possibility of any other emotion he could be having towards John Soap MacTavish.

Summary
Soap has been a bit mouthier than what Ghost thinks is normal. He's not contradicting or questioning Ghost, but he's speaking up more, offering opinions where he usually wouldn't, or asking Ghost to spell out the mission plan when he knows damn well what's supposed to happen. It's irritating because Soap has proven that he can think for himself and is, in fact, more intelligent than most people give him credit for. He's also flirting more. It’s all so irritating and frustrating. One day, Soap finds the threshold to Ghost's patience. Thanks to what follows, they discover something interesting.

Summary
They've entered into some weird twilight zone where Ghost actually may be OK with not being alone all the time. Soap stays close to him during a lot of their down time. They each have their own duties around base even when they aren't actually on a mission, but aside from that and when they are asleep, Ghost taking his meals in his room, or in the showers, they are within eyesight of each other. Over the last few weeks, there’s also been a few times when they've been alone together, and Soap has shimmied in close and tilted his head, giving a toothy grin and a sideways challenging raise of his eyebrow.
One afternoon, Ghost has been at the training range, begrudgingly assisting a few of the men from the CIA with their movement training. It was extremely hot out, odd for the time of year, and even Ghost could admit that it had been rather unbearable for the day. After sweating it out on the range, Ghost had come back to his room to grab a shower and clean clothes. He's wearing his pants, boots, and just pulling a black hoodie over his head to wear for the rest of the day when there's a knock at his door.

Summary
Despite the occasional moment of irritating idiocy that he deals with in everyone he meets, Ghost decides he can tolerate Alejandro and Rodolfo more than most people. Not like he can deal with Soap, but, then again, clearly that is an exception. That thought comes to mind just as Soap and Rodolfo emerge from the base, several Vaqueros with them.
"Not coming with us?", the omega asks Ghost when he and Soap get close enough.
Soap must be joining in the drinking excursion. Ghosts gut clenches and squirms like there's something alive inside frantically trying to claw its way out.
"Try not t' burn the place down while we're gone, yeah Lt", Soap teases, grinning at Ghost when he turns to meet the other alphas gaze.
"Be sure you behave, Sergeant", Ghost says, then he turns on his heel and walks away.

Summary
Catching his breath, Ghost considers his next move. What he should do is run. Get away. Disappear into the night like his namesake. But then what about Soap? An odd sense of poeticness in the moment has him chuckling. What to do, what to do? Leave Soap? Get out on his own and slink back into the darkness, on the run but alive. Stay and help Soap, both of them maybe get out, and still on the run if they manage it. If they manage to get out alive. Ghost stares at a bit of colored light reflecting onto the floor from the light of the streetlights outside coming in through the stained glass windows. It's varying shades of blue. Like Soaps eyes.
Fuck.

Summary
After escaping Las Almas, Ghost and Soap make it to a safe place. There, they are happy to find a friendly face. Plans are made for what to do next, then it's time to rest before their self appointed mission.
"The surrounding area is rigged. No one's getting close without us knowing", Rudy says quietly, "We're safe here."
It's safe for all of us to rest, is what he's saying. Ghost glances at Soap, still looking sated and out cold.
"Fine", Ghost agrees, settling more comfortably.
He doesn't close his eyes until Rudy is sitting up, prepared to protect. Figuring that he and Soap are well in hand, and knowing that if someone were to get past Rudy they'd not make it much further, Ghost closes his eyes and drifts off to sleep.

Summary
Rudy, Ghost, and Soap rescue Alejandro and Los Vaqueros from Graves and his Shadows. Price and Gaz arrive. Another part of Ghost is revealed. Discomfort eats at his skin and he can feel crawling and gnawing under his clothes, but the people in the room aren't his enemies. Ghost has to remind himself so that he doesn't lash out at them. Instead, he tries to save the need to hunt and kill for the fight to come. Then Soap is stepping in close. But even this soft moment is mixed with the brutality of Ghost's very being. Ghost loves it, craves it. And with it all, Soap is calm and there. As if Ghost isn't a monster that Soap should run from.

Summary
"Aye. Like old times, huh, sir?"
At least he's not the only one thinking along those lines. It was only yesterday and it's such an odd sense of deja vu. It's not completely dissimilar to Las Almas; having each other in their ears, Ghost watching over Soap from afar. He can't see Soap, but it helps being able to hear what's going on since the younger alpha has his comms toggled to stay on. It sounds like things are going well until contact with Soap cuts out. Ghost tries to reach him, but the younger alpha isn't answering. He's about to consider leaving his perch when Soap's voice comes in over the comms.
"Ghost..."
He sounds disoriented and in pain.
"Soap..?"
"Watch the window..."

Summary
"All stations- Hassan's down. Enemy KIA."
"Roger that", Price responds.
There's a squirming and crawling sensation in Ghost's gut as he stays where he is, keeping an eye on Soap. After a moment, there's movement further in the room and then Gaz is entering. He kneels down next to Soap and they talk for a second before Gaz looks out of the shattered window towards where Ghost is still perched and he waves with one hand, toggling his radio with the other.
"I've got 'im, Lieutenant."
"Copy."
After the events of Chicago, the team finally gets to have some rest.

Summary
After taking down Hassan, Ghost and company get to have a little bit of rest at the not-so-safehouse while they wait for word from Laswell. It's the morning after and Ghost and Soap finally have some semblance of an adult conversation. Maybe even be considered as a negotiation. Maybe. Sort of. Ghost would consider it progress. Soap has been receptive and accepting of Ghosts dominating nature thus far and the previous night only proved it even more. Soap was his. Now that Soap himself had accepted that, it was time to start showing him exactly what being a favored thing of a fiend entailed.

Summary
Soap finds he likes being around Ghost even if Ghost acts like he doesn't feel the same. It's a lot like taming a feral dog, but he doesn't actually want to tame Ghost. He wants to befriend him, in all of the man's wild and dangerous glory. Soap gets the sense that not many people bother with Ghost unless it's in the professional capacity of what he's able to do for the mission, which seems unfair to him as a person in Soap's opinion. So, he simply tries to show Ghost that there's at least one person that won't instantly run away from him or ask more of him than he's willing to give.
Ghost is a violent creature, made of shadow, pain, and a primal wildness. He was a force of nature, a reckoning, a weapon. Soap's not sure if a man like Ghost is capable of understanding the softer emotions and things like friendship and relationships without there being an element of darkness to it. He's also not sure how to categorize the way Ghost looks at and treats him either. Not that Soap minds, once he thinks about it. It makes Soap feel warm all over and has him overly aware of the man's eyes on him or his presence near him. He's not sure what that says about him.

Summary
Returning to the base after all of the excitement of tracking and taking down Hassan in Chicago, and the few days spent between resting there and then in Mexico, Ghost finds that being back on base is harder than he originally expected. There's a buzzing under his skin that is different from the normal discomfort he's used to living with. The general discontent and discomfort that Ghost is accustomed to rarely ever has felt this acute and it exacerbates his generic ill-tempered and bloodthirsty disposition. Which turns him from being casually unpleasant and off putting to being wholly horrible to be around and a menace to those that have to put up with him. It's another week before he realizes what's causing so much upset within himself, after which he feels like an idiot for not realizing sooner.

Summary
As he walks behind the couch where Soap is sitting, Ghost glances down briefly. Then he stops. Blinking, he quietly backs up and looks over Soap's shoulder at the younger man's phone. He's looking at...nipple clamps. How interesting. Not overly odd, when Ghost thinks about it. Soap does like having his nipples played with. The clamps he's looking at seem a bit advanced, though Ghost will admit he's not done a lot of research on this specific topic. Perhaps he should.
He's been doing some reading, brushing up on his knowledge and looking into things he can do with Soap. It's nice to see that Soap has started looking into things himself as well. His obvious interest stokes Ghost's desire and need, glad to see that the man is just as into Ghost's ownership over him as Ghost is. That being said, as much as Ghost doesn't care for talking things out, this is something he and Soap should probably discuss.

Summary
Fuck, Ghost thinks, remembering the way Soap's blood had felt on his skin. It's not the first time, but something about tonight had been different, had set him off in a different way. Maybe it was the lingering high or stress of the mission. Perhaps it was Soap's brief moment of insanity where he'd forgotten his manners. Whatever it was that had caused him to bare himself the way he had, Ghost wasn't freaking out about it as much as he thought he would have. What the hell is wrong with me?

Summary
So many little pieces. Ghost can see them like they're laid out on a table. There are spaces in a puzzle where they may fit in. If the puzzle were even real, but Ghost has never believed in coincidence.
So many pieces that may or may not connect. Little points on a wall strung together. But it's all jumbled up, too many strings woven together that he's sure they don't have them all. The frustration of it bites hard and howls loud. When Ghost finds himself staring into the empty eyes of malice wrapped in a smile, he feels his control fracture.
Thank fuck for Price. Ghost just has to hold on before he can let his inner beast free.

Summary
Ghost returns to the SAS base in England after four days. Four blood-soaked, scream filled, glorious days of hunting and catching. They touch back down on base in the early afternoon, the sky slightly overcast, and a gentle breeze blowing through. It's a good day. When Ghost steps off the ramp and onto the landing pad, it's the calmest he's felt, down to his core, in months. Not that he hadn't found ways to keep himself occupied and entertained, or that the other missions the team had gone on were bad, but there was something about being able to go solo and really let go that he'd missed. That he'd needed.
Time to drop my shit off, then go find what's mine, Ghost thinks as he makes his way to his room. He didn't take much with him to begin with and he'd lost a few guns and knives along the way. He opens the door to his room and before he's even over the threshold his instincts are pinging that something in his domain is different. He flicks on the light and glances around as he takes a cautious step into the room. Only a beat later does he see what the cause is, making him pause once again in the doorway.

Summary
Ghost is sitting in his office, which in and of itself is cause for general frustration. The stacks of paperwork he's going through isn't helping things. He lets out a slow sigh as he drops another personnel file into the trash and fights the urge to throw something. He'd much rather be outside and moving. As he opens another potential tip on Shepherd, his office door is banging open, and a soldier comes charging in. They're lucky not to get a bullet or knife to the face instantly. Instead, Ghost keeps his violent desires locked tight and opens his mouth to unleash a barrage of snarled reprimand when-
"Sergeant MacTavish and Sergeant Garrick are fighting with Lieutenant Marks!"

Summary
"The way the Lieutenant acts, not sure why he doesn't just piss on Soap and be done with it."
Soap scoffs and makes a comment about how he's not into that kind of thing, and for the recruits not to talk ill of a superior like that. Ghost knows neither of them can outright say that Ghost has already marked Soap in just about every way possible, but-
Ghost pauses. Just about every way. Almost every way... But not every way.
Hmm.

Summary
Movement rustles clothing. A weight settles in Ghost's hand. The sound of a safety switching off. Then a gunshot.
"Ghost!?"
It all lasted only a handful of heartbeats. Ghost shifts his arm so that the gun in his hand is now aimed at Makarov.
"How interesting", Makarov says, the gleam in his eyes demented and maniacal.
A flick of the wrist. A tensing of the hand. A squeeze of the trigger.
Another shot rings out and the body tied to the chair goes dead weight, blood staining the forehead and down the face of the burlap bag. There's shouting somewhere in the background. Gaz and Price shocked and angry. Ghost knows what they're thinking, he's just not sure how they both could be so stupid to not see what is so plain to him. His gaze stays locked with Makarov's, a moment between them stretching onward. Two monsters, two beasts of blood and darkness standing toe to toe. Ghost's gun once again aimed at Makarov's head.
"Ah. And here I was worried you had gone soft."
