Summary
Jason Todd was dead to begin with. The circumstances of his death were, to be quite blunt, completely arbitrary. But for a man like Bruce Wayne, who often played the role of Batman, death could never be arbitrary. There had to be a reason, a modus operandi, a scheme in place for there to be death. Indeed, were someone to die of natural causes while he was in the room, Bruce would most likely find cause to suspect the Gentleman Ghost or Klarion the Witch Boy than anything else. Death would not meet his presence, be in the same room, as him. If she were, then he would just be a man, nothing more. He had to be more. Especially since Jason Todd was dead.
Which made the circumstances of his arrival in the most Haunted Town in America all the more ironic.

Summary
It was an hour after Mr. Lancer begrudgedly announced that the sophomore class of Caspar High would be attending a technology expo in Metropolis hosted by Wayne Enterprise. Even to a man unfamiliar with what transpired less than four months ago, there were several red flags. For starters, he had not entered any contest to get the students to attend such an expo nor would he be inclined to enter one. Wayne Enterprise was a Gotham operated organization. And the citizens of Amity Park had what could only be described as a well founded and rational contempt for that city. Contempt was especially found with the various members of the Wayne family. (Indeed, the only people Amity Park had more contempt for was Batman, especially after it was discovered that he is a ghost.)
So for such a trip to exist must be some fowl trickery. Of course, Mr. Lancer could not uncover the motivation for such trickery. He was, after all, indisposed for the majority of the Batman's time in Amity Park. However, the children of Amity Park, who were well acquainted with the caped crusader when he was stuck in Amity Park, knew exactly why this was happening.

Summary
Contrary to his reputation, the Batman does not always win his fights. Sometimes, the baddies get a good punch in or there's a clever trap he missed or even a terrible choice was forced upon him. In the case of the his fight with the Cult of the Shifting Child--an off shoot of Blackfire's cult, and a relatively successful one at that--it was simply their numbers

So, ah, what happened to me?"
"We're not entirely sure," said Kwan, "We found you walking distance from the start of town in a pretty terrible wreck. I mean, you practically flew out the windshield. It's a miracle you were basically uninjured." Clark did the laugh he often did when people said things like that.
