Summary
Memories of running with you, of wrestling and winning. The scent of me on your skin and clothes from my fur. I shared this with you, my home. The woods were like my home, the scent of family and creation coming straight from the dirt and moss below. Winding tree trunks were like my brothers growing up, and the roots my uncles.

Summary
I can hear Ponyboy crying – no, sobbing from the other side. Deep hiccups leave his throat in a rush. I can almost see the snot running from his nose and his puffed-up pink cheeks that always looked like they were stained with cherries when they got red.
My feet carry me to the door and I push it open just a crack. Ponyboy’s head is buried in his hands, but there are dark stains on his jeans from where his head was laying earlier. I can smell the disappointment and feel the call to comfort the youngest member of our pack. It’s like a stab in the chest, a fishline reeling me in. I don’t dare go another step further.

Summary
Grief strikes you at the worst moments. It freezes you and releases every pent-up emotion in your body to the point where you can’t even fucking breathe. It leaves even me speechless; no phrase or analogy can describe what I’m feeling right now. All I know is that it’s balling in my throat, bleeding down my chest, and bursting through my eyes, yet it isn’t precisely sadness.
Dad described it as queer, strange, weird, and unknown. Queer. I just leave it as it is. Some emotions aren’t meant to be told; not everything needs a name.
