"Su-jie!" He says, reaching out to her tear-stained cheek and then stopping himself. "What happened? What in the world could you need me for? Couldn't you just ask San-ge?" He gasps. "Oh no, is he okay? Did something happen?"
She takes a breath. Steels herself.
"I think A--" she bites her lip and looks into Nie Huaisang's eyes. Always silly, flighty Huaisang usually doesn't have any depth to his gaze, but there is something she's never seen before sitting just beneath his clueless concern for her.
She shakes her head. She doesn't want to be the one to break the news, but she has to be.
"Nie Huaisang," she says. "I think Jin Guangyao killed Nie Mingjue."
