Summary
Dabi continues to hum though Hawks hears when he drops the pencil–feels as he Dabi wraps his other arm around Hawks and begins to sway to the growing lyrics.
"I know that you're an angel," Dabi sings against the shell of his ear, the sound is low and maybe a little off key but Hawks smiles nonetheless from where he presses his lips against the scarring of Dabi's neck. He continues singing, "But it's not your time to fly, now... We need you here on Earth... Stay right here..."

"Dance with me?" Hawks asks, pulling his face away from Dabi's chest, and looking up, finally.
Dabi's eyes are cobalt, deep, in the shadow of light cast from the kitchen behind him. If Hawks' counted in shades of blue, he thinks he'd find an ocean, a galaxy, and planets worth of blues in Dabi's eyes.
Dabi huffs, "I don't dance, birdie," he says, but the hand at the back of Hawks' head drifts and his palm cups Hawks' chin. His thumb traces over the bone of his jaw, up his cheek.

Summary
Dabi can acknowledge though, in his sheer shock of watching Hawks dip into water that makes his skin turn red, that Hawks does relax in these moments. That this isn't something that relaxes Dabi, but Dabi is relaxed just being able to sit on a little stool by the tub–watching first as Hawks peels off layers of clothing and leaves work in a pile of fabric shuffled off to a corner of the bathroom.

Summary
It's been some time since Dabi had to teach someone something as simple as doing the dishes. Not since the dead boy Touya Todoroki had held Natsuo's tiny hands, and showed him how to soak them in warm water before putting them in the dishwasher.
Hawks' upbringing that's kept him locked in a cage for almost his entire life means he's never had to learn such things: he had the HPSC housekeepers ensuring his apartment was always kept in a perfect state.
And so Dabi submerges Hawks' hands in the water, whilst reflecting on the last time that he'd felt as happy as Hawks makes him here, now. Now that Hawks has opened that door to the room full of feelings he'd locked away ever since Touya had died, and Dabi had been born.
