Summary
Viktor pauses to glance at him from over his shoulder, then turns back to his work. “Good evening.”
Jayce blinks slowly, arching a quizzical brow. “It's a little late for that now," he comments, a teasing tone in his voice.
Viktor tilts his head just slightly to the clock on the wall, eyes flickering over it briefly. “Ah,” A beat. "Good morning, then."
A light huff of laughter escapes Jayce. He shakes his head clear of it. “Come back to bed?”

Summary
“Right back where we started, then, huh?” Jayce remarks, tilting his head back and looking up into the night sky. "Shitty party, shitty suits, shitty people. I'd be nostalgic if I weren't so annoyed." He gestures vaguely, turning his hand over in a sort of 'what can you do about it?' motion.
Viktor joins him at the rails and instead leans onto his forearms, looking out at the glimmering city laid out in front of him. "Not quite," he replies.
"No?"
"You're less of an asshole now."
Out of the corner of his eye, Viktor catches Jayce affixing him with an exaggerated doubtful look.
"To me," he amends with a slight grin.

The copper tang of blood and metal stains your lips.
Your ears ring with the crack of the final blow, the clang of steel to the floor. You don’t know when you started holding your breath, but as soon as the air finds its way back into your lungs, you crumple against the nearest wall, straining muscles aching. Viktor doesn’t get up.
It’s over.
