“Ali, hey, what’s up?” He hasn’t heard from her since she left LA right after breaking-up with him. He had known it was coming from the day he’d been released from the hospital, he supposes if he’s thankful for anything it’s that she at least waited until he could work out how to mostly cope on his own before she split.
“Can you come to Cedars Sinai?” There’s nothing else in the call, Ali sounding tired but not scared or hurt.
“Are you okay?” He’s already turning towards the stairs to jog down them, ignoring the mild twinge in his leg as he picks up speed. “I’ll be there in ten minutes.”

“I’m afraid Mr Buckley suffered a pulmonary embolism approximately fifteen minutes ago,” her voice is far too cheerful to be giving the news that Buck choked and died in his hospital room, although Eddie still feels the blood draining from his face, flashing back to that stunned expression on Buck’s face as blood spilled from his mouth.

"Hey, did you know that other people can go to the kids' islands on that game?" He asks Hen the following day at work, stocking up the ambulance with her while Chim teaches the probie how to roll hoses.
"Yeah, I mean, they go to each other's all the time." Which, yeah, in a way, Eddie knew that part.
"No, I mean other people, like people on the internet or whatever." Hen shoots him a look, one that states he's showing his usual technophobic ways again. “I'm just saying, some person that Chris called 'Buck' was on his island just like... giving him things.” It feels a lot like those stories about grooming or whatever, when the internet was new and people pretended to be something they weren't. What if this Buck person was an old guy in a creepy basement trying to befriend kids on a game?
