Summary
"Truth be told, he doesn't have a problem with Mickey's longer-than-usual hair. He actually likes it, especially since it's February and therefore cold as fuck and so Mickey wears a beanie whenever they go outside. Ian's never really told him but he's dangerously close to drooling every time Mickey just casually pulls it over his hair and then takes a few seconds to check himself in the mirror, arranging random locks in a careful disarray. Yeap, just imagining it sends a pleasant tingle down his spine. Maybe he has a hair kink - is there even such a thing?"
---
OR: Ian discovers there's a particular reason Mickey is letting his hair grow out and it just so happens it fits perfectly with the reason why he himself likes it.

Summary
"It's the third night in a row when he wakes up for absolutely no reason. He doesn't need to take a leak, he's not thirsty or hungry, he doesn't have the sudden urge to go for a run or bake three batches of cookies so why the fuck is he suddenly wide awake, as if he'd slept ten hours and not just a measly three? And the annoying part is that, based on previous experience, it's going to take forever to fall back asleep."

Summary
"On tonight's menu: a strain that seems to favour introspection, trips down memory lane and way too much talking. At least, as far as Ian's concerned. He's also feeling so unflappable that he barely spares a second thought to what he's about to start as soon as he opens his mouth. Oh, well.
[...]
'Did you... um- did you meet anyone while you were away?' he finally asks and then promptly cringes at his lame phrasing."

Summary
"They're supposed to be getting better at communicating. You know, now that they're married and living together, just the two of them for the first time in their lives. No more pointless yelling. No more heated fuck you, Gallagher and you're such a fucking asshole, Mick. No more shoving each other - unless it's play-fighting that turns into foreplay that turns into scalding hot sex on the nearest available surface.
Truth be told, they are getting better, but they're not there yet. At least, he isn't. Somehow, Mickey's beat him to it and Ian finds himself lagging behind in what should have been an easy area to conquer. He hates that he's such a hothead, especially now, when Mickey seems to have become an expert at handling his own short fuse, lengthening it one argument at a time."
---
OR: After an entire week of being inexplicably irritable, Ian finally "manages" to piss his husband off enough that he storms out of the apartment. What follows is an hour and a half of radio silence, a cascade of terrifying what ifs, a dishevelled (and slightly injured Mickey) and a heartfelt conversation/apology.

Summary
"Ian comes home with flowers one day. And not just a handful tied in a bouquet with one of those silk ribbons, like any normal human being would buy. No, he has a fucking armful of dozens upon dozens of flowers of all colours, shapes and sizes. There's a spark in his eyes and a bordering-on-unhinged grin on his face and he looks positively ecstatic, as if he's just discovered the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow."

Summary
"Mickey sighs again like a fucking emo kid and then scowls at his own reflection. He's gotten too used to Ian being within an arm's reach at all hours of the day and night and now that he's all by himself on a goddamn Saturday for the first time in fucking forever, he feels like an abandoned puppy. He checks his phone again, sighs again. He hasn't sighed so much in his entire fucking life!"
---
OR: when Ian goes with Lip to Detroit for the day, Mickey realises just how grey and dull everything is without him around - this is an account of those twelve hours that, sadly, end up turning into twenty-five.

Summary
"He makes a detour to grab his phone from the bedroom and then heads towards the kitchen and for the millionth time since they moved out of the Gallagher house he feels like he's having an out-of-body experience. Yes, this is his life now, in a fancy-ass apartment on the fucking West Side, keeping Ian, his husband, company while he's making dinner for the two of them on a Sunday afternoon.
16-year-old Mickey would lose his shit if presented with this picture. And most likely jerk off to it in the dead of the night. 26-year-old Mickey hops on one of the barstools and smiles softly at the scene unfolding in front of him."
---
OR: On a random Sunday afternoon, Mickey discovers that his competence kink (yes, he knows what that is, thanks to his smart-ass brother-in-law) extends well beyond Ian's skills with guns or his EMT expertise.

Summary
"They've been together for close to a decade. On and off, true, but Ian prefers to round things up. And yet, it seems like there's always something new to discover, something he didn't know about Mickey and, on rare yet special occasions, something that really leaves him dumbfounded. Like the fact that, apparently, sick Mickey equals whiny and clingy Mickey. Ian thinks it's obscenely adorable.
---

Summary
"Ian then puts the safety glasses on, carefully places the headphones over his hair and shifts in place a little, adjusting his stance. He takes the safety off, rolls both shoulders and aims. One-handed, which sends another wave of heat through Mickey's veins. For some reason he had expected Ian to have a two-handed grip but no, the fucker insists on turning into a walking wet dream. And then he pulls the trigger."

Summary
" 'Was just thinkin' 'bout how much things've changed since we moved here. How much I've changed. And I'm not blamin' you for it,' he grins cheekily and then rolls his eyes when Ian makes a show of audibly sighing in relief and dragging the back of his right hand across his forehead. 'And I think we should extend the lease.' "
