He’s expecting the hug when it comes, but not how normal it is. It’s Scotty’s special, the one that feels like stepping into a warm bath, like life is good and fair and everyone’s nice and there’s always gonna be a place for you in the vulnerable spots between Scott’s ribs.
Lately all they’ve managed is short, rough, thank god you’re mostly okay hugs, so this is a bit like a giant flashing sign that says WELCOME HOME, IT’S SAFE HERE.
