Summary
It’s all very amiable, really, to have such a dignified man living with them.
Xiao isn’t really sure when it started. When he decided that he wanted Zhongli for himself.
(alternatively: xiao likes zhongli. the fact that he's his mother's husband is just a technicality.)

Summary
Waking is a slow and time consuming process, tens of minutes until he can keep his eyes open without feeling like he might drift back into the warmth of his bed’s embrace. Although, Xiao finds that something is different this time around.

Summary
He’s come to realize, after what he would consider the honeymoon phase of their tumultuous relationship has ended, that he doesn’t always need all of that yearning, that insatiable desire. And yes, while it is nice and always leaves Xiao feeling like he’s scratched an itch he prior couldn’t reach, there is something warming in coming downstairs to find Zhongli’s yawning, bedhead adorned figure hunched over a cup of coffee, early enough that he hasn’t had the time to put himself together and slip into the persona of the well rounded man he is.
(alternatively: an afternoon to themselves.)

Summary
See, Zhongli’s gone off on a business trip to Fontaine, and Xiao misses him terribly. He’s gotten used to his presence around the house, and the lack of it is more apparent than Xiao thought it would be. Breakfast with his mother isn’t the same if Zhongli isn’t there to compliment her eggs or tell him he has a grain of rice stuck to his face. Coming home from work feels empty without Zhongli there to greet him. His office sits untouched and Xiao knows, though he doesn't sleep with him, that his side of the bed has gone cold.
He knows it’s petulant, that he’s behaving childishly, missing Zhongli so dearly when he’s only going to be gone for a week, but the days are gruelling and he has nothing better to do than mope. Missing Zhongli had sparked the bright idea of giving him a bit of a surprise— after all, who said that what they did needed to stay in his bedroom? Long distance couples do this kind of thing all the time.
(alternatively: xiao misses zhongli. sending him nudes seems like the only reasonable answer to curing this.)

Zhongli halts him by the wrist. “Xiao.” He turns, regarding Zhongli with curiosity. “The first chance we get,” he says, and immediately Xiao knows what he’s talking about.
(alternatively: some icky feelings, but mostly just an inability to get any alone time.)

Summary
Now, Xiao’s not normally crude. In fact, one might say that he has a hard time asking Zhongli what he wants. However, for some reason he can’t put his finger on, he wants to make that furrow in his brow one not borne from frustration. That’s why he steps into the office and says, “Want me to help you relax?”
(alternatively: zhongli's work phone belongs in the garbage disposal.)
