Summary
Wen Kexing has loved one man and one man only, ever since he met him during the downfall of the Ghost Valley.
Zhou Zishu was 17 and he was 15 when they first met, and it was a meeting that entwined their lives together forever.

(NOTE: This fic is not new; I'm simply breaking it down to go from one big chapter to multiple because I realized it was INCREDIBLY long to be all in one page lol; plus fixed some grammar/spelling as I went along formatting it)

Summary
Zhou Zishu froze as the crows cried out louder, circling the skies with fever.
The water slowly turned red, like that of fresh fallen blood, and it bubbled like it was boiling hot, steam rising above.
Zhou Zishu screamed as a pair of hands shot out and grabbed him, dragging him into the water. He struggled, trying to reach the surface, but the hands refused to let him go.
He stopped struggling when he caught the gaze of one Wen Kexing.
"Find me."

Where the dead don't actually die. Zhou Zishu dreams of a place long forgotten and follows his instincts, searches it out, and finds something - or, more like someone - in its ruins.

Summary
"Wen Kexing!" Lei Ying whispers loudly, "Wen Kexing don't you dare go back to sleep and jus---"
His voice is cut off abruptly, so sudden that Wen Kexing tenses. The grip on her hand tightens so hard that Wen Kexing can't help but gasp, struggling to pull it away. She's not dumb, she can hear Lei Ying gurgle like he's choking on something - probably his own spit, he'll get himself in order soon - but she's very annoyed and slightly in pain at his persistence to keep a firm grip.
Wen Kexing knows something is very wrong when the grip loosens and she is able to snatch her hand away.
There's a weight on her body, a shift so sudden that her eyes snap open. Wen Kexing nearly chokes on her own breath at the sight that greets her.
It's the woman from the portrait.

Summary
Wen Kexing - A blood sucking creature of the night residing in an abandoned town.
Zhou Zishu - An assassin leader that stumbles into an abandoned town.
Part 1: Meeting Wen Kexing
"I needed a place to stay for the night, this one was the only one nearby," Zhou Zishu reluctantly answered, eyeing the other cautiously, "I wasn't aware this town still had residence living in it."
"There's no living here, dear," The creature confessed, tapping a seemingly black painted nail to his smirking lips playfully, "No beating hearts or working lungs."
Part 2: Meeting Wen Yan
"Why are you looking at me as if though I've been an unfaithful husband?" Zhou Zishu asked, taking a sip from the jug as if though Wen Kexing did not see what had just occurred, "You look like a cheated wife."
"Aren't I?" Wen Kexing scowled, bristling in anger, "You think I didn't notice you caress that shameless man's hand? Your indulgence of his flirtations? If you want him so much then go spend the rest of your short life with him!"

"Your wife can drink all the vinegar he wants,"
