Summary
Aziraphale has been homeless for six years in the States. It was difficult to pick up the wallet that had fallen into the gutter.
“Sir,” he croaked, “your wallet!”
But the man did not hear him. It was a good thing his red hair was so distinguishing, or he’d have lost the man in the crowd.

Was it just Aziraphale or did the man seem… angry suddenly? Not the first time he’d enraged someone by merely addressing them…
“That wallet would buy you meals for at least a month, not to mention the fifteen hundred dollars inside.”

All he wanted was a chocolate cake pop. Delicious little things as long as they hadn’t gone stale while sitting in the display case for too long. He was only a few feet from the door when a miracle happened.
An angry, distinct and dark figure with a long red plait and dark sunglasses burst out of the coffee shop like a furious whirlwind. The sight made Aziraphale’s breath come out in a long, loud whoosh and he couldn’t seem to take in air anymore. He stood there, rooted in place and utterly stunned.
Crowley!

“So, can I get your name?”
“Oh, goodness me! Of course. Aziraphale.”
Crowley smirked. “Very angelic.”
Yes, the collar had some sort of vendetta against Aziraphale’s neck. If he blushed anymore, he would surely see steam rise from it. “And you’re Crowley.”
Crowley’s eyebrows shot over his sunnies. “You remembered.”
“Of course, I did,” he murmured shyly. You’re hard to forget. “It’s not every day a man gives me his lavish wallet with a substantial amount of money in it.” He marveled when Crowley matched his blush and looked to his shoes.

"Eve’s Garden called. They said you left your resume with them and they’re in need to fill a position as quickly as possible.”
“Eve’s Garden? What-where-what?”
“The, uh, flower shop?”
“The flower shop! Yes! Yes!” The lady who’d taken his resume had actually come through. Had actually meant it!

Summary
“It's just a reception job at a flower shop...”
Newt scoffed with amusement as he got into the driver's side. “Well, it's not just a flower shop now, is it?” He chuckled.
Aziraphale’s brows knitted together. “How do you mean?”
Newt snapped his gaze at Aziraphale with incredulity, needing to swerve a bit to avoid colliding with the car in front. "You do know what Eve’s Garden specializes in don't you?”
He shrugged. “Apparently, I do not. I thought people just went in there to buy flowers for special occasions. Like Valentine’s Day.”
“Oh, shit!” Newt paled and his mouth dropped open.

Tracy had just walked in on him talking to himself. “I just want you to be happy, sweetie. One little text won’t bring on Armageddon.”
“I’m not so sure,” Aziraphale complained petulantly.
“Oh, stop pouting and send him a message!”
He groaned and pulled on his white curls. “What am I expected to say? ‘Hello?’”

“Do you understand now? Do you see? I have less than nothing to offer you or anyone. I’m glad for what happened tonight because I needed reminding. You make it so easy to forget, you know? But this is my reality. This. I’m sure our… date… would have been lovely in another life. I’m no thief, and I certainly don’t try to take advantage of others.”

Summary
Here Aziraphale was, off in his own morbid thoughts while his phone continued to ring and chirp.
How can someone so clever be so stupid?
“I know,” he conceded to the Evil Twin. “I know.”
Does it finally make sense now?
“Yes. It always has, really.”
So, then? Why torture yourself with crumbs of hope?
“If rare moments of joy are all I’m allowed, I might as well bask in them for as long as I can.”I can’t argue with that, I suppose.
The call went to voicemail. Again.

He looked around, still having trouble taking it all in when a thought came to him. “How long exactly do you expect me to stay?”
“As long as you want. You won’t see me ushering you out the door. In fact, I’d prefer if you stayed here… with me.”
Aziraphale raised a disbelieving brow. “So, I’m free to move in completely starting now,” he joked.
But Crowley merely nodded. “Yep.“
