Summary
Looking around at two wildly confused faces and one mildly horrified face, Tim can kind of see that he probably shouldn’t have participated in Never Have I Ever with a magical amulet that shines purple for truth and yellow for a lie.
Who knew?
Dick takes a strangled breath before breathlessly gasping out, “What the fuck do you mean you killed someone?”

Summary
The camera lights flash in his eyes as he stares ahead with his politest society smile wondering what the fucks the point of being there.
Answering questions automatically he continues to zone out. Bruce is back and nothing has changed for the better. Damian got his father back, Dick got his freedom, and even Bruce gets to do his fresh-start bullshit not like he’s doing much with it since he’s wasting it on Batman incorporation shit and yet he’s here. A high school dropout taking care of a company he doesn’t really care about and doing media control for a branch of the company he’s never even looked over.
Didn’t he promise himself that he wouldn’t become this person who only does things for others when they don’t give anything back? He already lived this life with his parents for the first half of his life and even though he thought he was safe and fine he should have known not to be so naive as to think it would stay different.

Summary
Hood snickers beside him while Robin lets out a snort.
Their amusement does not spread, however, considering the other two in this confrontation are frozen and staring at each other in growing horror as Red Robin and Harley both consider the implications of what this means.
Accidently calling a villain ‘Mom’ would usually just be a small thing to laugh at, but not when she recognizes the voice calling her that due to a previously very bad interaction between the two.
Like the time Joker and Harley Quinn kidnapped 12 year old Timothy Drake and electrotherapied him into thinking he was Joker Junior and that they were his parents before he inevitably ended up shooting the Joker point blank in the head, instantly killing him.

"Rule number 1?"
"Presentation. You should never go somewhere without the foreknowledge and expertise of the appropriate appearance. Make-up, hair, clothes, and posture can make or break any situation."
Cupping his face and moving it around in a circular motion - he knows it's just to make him laugh instead of checking to find any imperfections like she's pretending it is - she smirks at him before nodding encouragingly and asking, "Rule number 2?"
"Strategy. Pick out your goal, and figure out exactly who and what you need to get there. Do so sparingly and efficiently."
Giving him a kiss on the nose and a warm smile, he allows his eyes to sparkle in a way that he knows only she could ever tell as he keeps the rest of his face emotionless and blank.
"And Rule number 3?"
Finally breaking the facade, he gives her a lopsided smirk as he leans into her hand sweetly, "Manipulation. Do whatever it takes, and be whoever you need to be to get the job done. After all," he pauses to share a smile and so they can say it together,
"Anyone outside me and mine are just obstacles to destroy and pawns to control."

Summary
In Tim’s haze of fire, he ends up with a thought that turns everything into ice.
It’s been a year since he came back with Bruce and he never got an apology.
So Tim walks up to his older brother who’s now taken a step backward with slightly widened eyes at the smile- the cold and very wide grin that’s taken place on Tim’s face very quickly, very suddenly -and he walks straight up to the man in front of him, puts his hands on his shoulders, and knees him straight in the dick.
Casually stepping over his older brother practically crying on the edge of the platform, and ignoring the gobsmacked look shared among Tam, the security guards, and most of the press who caught it all on camera, he walks over to wooden stand with the microphone and begins nonchalantly talking about the unfortunate mistake made by someone he doesn't care about in a division that’s so unimportant he was literally thinking about shutting it down a few weeks ago.
The questions asked by the press weren’t on topic at all.

Summary
Clearly tired- either of this conversation or this scenario or of something else that Jason can’t be sure of, the Prince glares at him.
“And what was I to do, truly? Even if I was allowed to take part in the rulemaking, the Royal Advisor and equivalents find me to be a child. Any word I say against them is met with poorly hidden derision or punishment,” the Prince snaps with cold eyes growing more furious by the word.
“What was I- a young child -supposed to do when they forbid me to leave the grounds and interact with the people? I assume you’d expect me to be a Good Prince and follow the rules given to me by the letter? How naive,” he snorts with hatred, at Jason, himself or someone else he isn’t sure, “Do you know what a Good Prince does, Red Hood?”

“What are you going to do, Drake? Kill me? Like they’d ever accept you, then, why they’d think you’re even crazier than they did befo-'' he sneers before his eyes widen to the size of saucers as he was interrupted by the older boy in front of him.
“I declare this a Battle of Standings.”
Interrupted by the older boy in front of him in Royal League Dialect which is only known by the Head, his descendents, and direct council.
Tim stares at him with unblinking eyes before continuing.
“A Battle of Standings begins by one grasping and throwing their chosen opponent’s desired weapon to their desired opposition. By catching and moving into a defensive position, you chose to accept.”
Damian swallows and tries to calm his speeding heart.

Summary
Between one second and the next, Tim appears crisscross in the middle of the table in the JL boardroom. Which wouldn’t be a problem since that’s where he was a second before… but is a problem because before there was only him and Batman yelling at him and now it looks like it’s the entire Justice League all sitting down in the middle of a meeting.
And also they look about 15 years younger.
“What the fu-” Oliver screeches, while Green Lantern falls out of his chair. Quite a few of the others end up jumping backwards or at least leaning away from him.
He guesses it’s a normal thing to do since he is apparently a random stranger who just appeared on their table in the supposedly very protected and secret Watchtower.
Tim can’t help but angrily glare at the wall in front of him for a few seconds before muttering while rubbing his temples, “God fucking dammit…”

Summary
Letting his body go tense with cold anger for the first time in his life, Tim takes the stairs to the top to speak with Barbara.
“Hey Tim! What’d ya need?” She greets him while she’s staring at her screens, presumably guiding the Birds of Prey on something or something else equally important in her very busy, too-filled schedule.
Ignoring her, he grabs the comfiest chair in the room and starts loudly moving it to be next to her station, while gathering the comfiest blankets he can find.
Sitting down in his newly acquired chair, he finally looks up to meet her confused eyes with determined fury in his own.
“I’m going to make this very clear. This is a call for attention. I need an hour or two of your undivided attention. I need you to listen to me, and not talk until the end. I need you to do this or I’m going to do something drastic like run away or burn down a building. Can you do this for me?”
Her widened eyes do not make any change to his composed demeanor and stern eyes.
The thing about never asking for something is that when you finally do, the smart people will listen.

Summary
"-ake, should we call someone?"
The buzzing softens and Tim focuses back onto the doctor.
The nice doctor with long brunette hair that he vetted extensively to the point he knows everything that he could possibly know about them.
His doctor.
He takes a deep breath and counts back from five.
5… there's a marble counter, a rolling chair, a light blue wall, his doctor's lab coat, and a wooden door.
4… he can feel his slacks he wore to work, the hard chair beneath him, the cool air, and the warmth of a hand holding his.
3… he can hear the doctor Humming, his own heartbeat, and the ticks of the clock on the wall.
2… the smell of antiseptic and mint are distinctive and easy to focus on.
1… he can taste the coffee he had this morning.
He takes a breath much easier than the last one.
Looking back at the doctor's brown, sympathetic eyes, he forces himself to stay in the moment.
"Okay. Tell me all my choices and everything I need to know."

Summary
Batting the sun in his eyes, Tim squints angrily at his curtains before tilting his head in confusion. He thought he went to bed at the nest? Why was he in his old bedroom at the manor?
Rubbing the sand out of his eyes, he looks around in a distant curiosity.
Because he was in here just a few days ago to spend the night after an all hands on deck Arkham breakout, and yet his room looks like it did when he was a teenager. Like when he was still Robin.

Summary
Tim continues on his way, past Bruce before B lightly grabs his arm.
Tilting their heads in sync making some others at the table shiver, "Red Robin. Is something wrong?"
Which at least calms down Superman and the other league members who looked like they were being attacked at their homebase by a hero they didn't recognize.
Barry just looks on curiously.
Nobody noticed his own head tilting in sync after all.
"No, it's fine, B. I just know Flash is busy this week and I needed to ask him something, but he missed Sunday dinner. I figured he'd race off right after the meeting and your closing summaries are boring anyway," he shrugs as Oliver and Hal flinch back a little at someone dissing Batman so casually to his face.
Bruce's lips twitch amused and Flash doesn't bother holding back a grin.
"And you couldn't wait until next Sunday dinner? Or even better- ask anyone else in the family?" Some people look over at him with squinty eyes and the implications they are getting about the Flash's supposed connection to the Batclan.
Barry's inner Dick Grayson is cackling.

Summary
Jason’s abrupt laugh breaks the stillness of the vicinity which is unfortunately followed by Damian sneering, “Oh please, Drake, anytime you speak I have to wonder if there’s any reason you still stick around-” but Jason just interrupts with, “Hey Tim what do you think of Damian?” with glee on his face.
Tim just tiredly stares at the wall before automatically, “I think he’s annoying, but I also think he’s really adorable when he’s playing with his animals or drawing and thinks he’s alone and acts like normal person instead of putting up a strong facade that he was forced to cultivate in such an abusive environment,” everyone stares at him for a second seconds in surprise and Damians specifically has wide eyes,
“Unfortunately, due to his maltreatment towards me, I end up with a lot of intrusive thoughts around him and now when I see him in the corner of my eye I get super angry and defensive due to paranoia he’ll try to kill me again. But then I think about how with one call I could accept Ra’s continual attempts to make me his Queen and then I would be his Grandmother and the idea of that really cracks me up.”

Summary
Saving him wasn't even a conscious decision.
Klarion has and always will be an annoying little bitch… but he's grown on him a little bit. And even though Tim knew he wouldn't really die, he knew the witch boy would have still been hurt quite a bit if he allowed the weird magical eldritch being to drag him into the equally weird magical abyss.
So he saved him.
Not the first time they've helped each other out, in and outside of the team, but it was the first time Klarion had a conflicted face about it.
In the end, when everyone was safe and the cheers were going all out, Klarion whispered something to him.
"Successor of tragedy,
Predecessor of greatness,
Empty of worth and love,
As savior of chaos you will shine,
A beacon in a time worthy of your direction,
And be saved in return."
----------------
When Tim saves Klarion's life, Klarion repays the debt through a 'curse' that doesn't kick in until a few years later when Tim tries to kill himself, and ends up in an alternate universe parallel to his own but many years in the past. Tim doesn't waste the gift given to him.

"It was a game," Tim smiled bemused to himself, "I think subconsciously I knew it wasn't a game… but you know when you're a kid and you still want to see the best in everyone. Cause of course all parents love their children just like the sky is blue and grass is green. That's what the movies and the books and the teachers and kids at school always said. So I wanted to play a game."
"I never really played hide and seek, but I heard some other kids talking about it- and well you know it sounded fun and like something you would do with family and it wasn't physically extenuating like tag or something so one day I decided to start playing." He stands up from stretching to start absentmindedly pacing.

Summary
How does a child grow into becoming part of The People without being told the stories They are supposed to share by word of mouth and word on paper.
Sometimes he wonders if They were told the warnings of being alive from Their parents.
If you don’t watch, your child will be taken by a fairy.
If you don’t pay attention, a changeling will switch with your child.
If you don’t love your child, a beldam will steal them away with attention and obsession.
He wonders if They cared at all.
As Tim sits criss cross on the JL meeting table while everyone converses heatedly and worriedly about the mysterious magical creature they’ve noticed in the forest near where children have gone missing, he can't help but absently mourn the children in the photos as he thinks of memories from long ago.
Warnings are often only given too late after all.

Summary
“Great. Now that you two are awake, we can begin.”
They open their eyes to look at him, but he isn’t very concerned with the acidity pointed towards him. After all, he’s gotten used to Batman’s and the kid’s- well Robin’s- just doesn’t hit as hard when he’s used to the more personal anger of the previous one.
He should check on Nightwing as he’s calling himself these days.
Opening the letter that showed up on his pillowcase this morning, seriously what the fuck? How did someone break into his phone AND his place?
Maybe he’s getting old. Or complacent.
He starts reading off the letter, “Good evening. You don’t know me, but I know you.” Creepy. Nice. He ignores the confused looks from the two in front of him. “This isn’t from me, obviously,” he clarifies, which clears up the confusion even if not the anger.
Slade just shrugs. “I’ve hired Deathstroke, AKA Slade Wilson, to kidnap you without harm and take you to Warehouse 14 by the East Docks. He is being paid to read this letter to you, and then after he will leave, again, without any intentions of harm.” The kid looks at him dubiously, but Slade doesn’t have much of a response.
That is what he’s being paid for after all.

Summary
The hours feel like no time has passed at all, and yet, simultaneously a lifetime due to his excitement.
He's not here for a case after all, Tim grins to himself as he parks the motorcycle in front of the hospital. A medium size, he thinks absently, as he walks through the entrance. Away from a city like Gotham where they need multiple gigantic hospitals for all the injuries suffered. Not so small it barely has any occupants, though.
Tim casually pulls his hair out of it's ponytail and puts on a beanie and some hipster glasses. Clark had the right idea after all- hiding in plain sight works much better than people would assume -and once he unzips his jacket to reveal a superboy t-shirt he looks as far away from Timothy Drake-Wayne as he possibly can while still looking like Tim.
Or Tim Winters, he whispers to himself a little giggly.

Summary
“Miss. Can I have a high five?”
Stacy has no idea what the fuck is happening right now and after squinting at him and getting shrugs from the girls, she gives him a confused high five.
His eyes sparkle a little at the high five but the rest of his face stays blank. He thanks her politely-- way too politely for where they are right now --and asks for a high five from the other four girls on the corner. After receiving high fives from the other girls, some more enthusiastically than others, he then reaches into his backpack and hands them all a brown paper bag.
Taking it hesitantly, they open the bag and then blanch.
Quickly looking at each other two of the girls run off immediately, while the other three stay frozen.
Angel looks up at the kid, then the bag, then the kid again before demanding quietly, “Kid, where the fuck did you get this?”The kid looks at her blankly.
“I got it legally if that’s what you’re worried about.”
