Summary
The knife is a fierce point of contact on Phil’s neck, cold and sharp and glinting in the light cast by the street lamps. The corpse is slumped between him and his attacker, but Phil doesn’t even think about glancing at it. Refuses to do anything other than jut his chin, because he more than most knows there’s no coming back from death, and heroes don’t get the luxury of things like mourning.
“Are you going to kill me?”
...Or: how a hero and a villain save each other through blood and death, and then through something more.
[No knowledge of the main fic needed.]

Summary
Before someone becomes a villain, they’re a person. Before someone’s a hero, they’re a kid with a half-spoken hope. It’s something the public, the newspapers and screaming reporters, often forget in a city crawling with corruption. Where individuality is a privilege, privacy a joke, beginnings aren’t so easily spoken of.
But such things matter. Such things define.
And before Niki was trained and shaped, before she was anything, she was a girl with bright eyes and a bakery.
…OR: A study in changes, in potential, and in how loss can be the catalyst for something more.
[Will contain major spoilers for the main fic, Consequences of the Dead. Meant to be read sometime after Chapter 18.]

Summary
Wilbur rolls his eyes. “I’m just patching you up out of some misplaced sense of guilt or nostalgia or whatever; after this, you can try and arrest me again as much as you want-”
“Nostalgia?” Tommy interrupts. He squints at the figure, all confusing tangents and cynical jokes, the bird still perched on his head. “What, do I know you or something?”
Wilbur’s face darkens. He reaches out a hand, rubbing absently at a long slash going through his trench coat, a tear in the seams of it all. Tommy stills.
“No,” the villain finally mutters with a brittle laugh. “No, you don’t.”
…Or: Superhero AU in which Wilbur, upon waking up in an alternate universe, accidentally becomes a villain. Maybe not a very good one, though - he remains insanely, outrageously protective over the very heroes (and vigilante) hunting him down.

Summary
L’manberg was many things - his greatest failure, his undoing, the catalyst to the end - but there was good, too. And it’s nice to think of the happy things for once, find joy in the heartache, resolution in another world, in a shitty, perfect diner.
…
Or: healing is a long, messy road. Good thing they have all the time in the world.
[Will contain major spoilers for the main fic, Consequences of the Dead. Meant to be read after the last chapter.]
