Summary
Without music, her house was suffocating, like it had been for the past six months, and she couldn’t bring herself to fill the void. Her artistry came out in a different way now: drawing. Drawing until she ran out of ink and her hand cramped. Drawing so she didn’t have to think. Until the strum of a guitar caught her attention at the pier, and the voice that followed captivated her. She couldn't look away even if she wanted to. And maybe the guy was looking back.

Or the AU where Luke is busking at Santa Monica Pier when Julie just so happens to go there to draw.

Summary
It was just another Friday of endless classes until Luke called her at school with a proposition. And she missed him, because four days was too long to go without seeing him, so no one could blame her. And they might have ended up making out in her room for a couple of hours before her family got home. So sue her.

Summary
Julie had always thought that, when it came down to it, her limitations would be her very own feelings, that maybe she would take a long time to feel ready. That turned out not to be the case. No, their limitations were different, and they came in various forms.
Firstly, her family. It seemed like either her dad or Carlos were always home. That time slot she sometimes had during baseball practice? Became unpredictable. Dad had a more flexible work schedule now and chose to work from home until it was time to pick Carlos up. So no more empty house for Julie, at least not with enough consistency that they would risk it.
Luke had moved out of his parents’ house into an apartment, which was great and would totally work in their favor, if he didn’t share it with the boys. One of them was also always home, or the three of them were out together for something band-related. They also couldn’t trust Reggie’s consistency to not be home when he said he wouldn’t.
All of that was driving Julie insane. She just wanted a few hours alone with her boyfriend, in the privacy of one of their houses. Was that too much to ask?
