Ever wonder about Scott Summers? What if there was more to his story? My take on how he came to be at the institute, drawing from inspiration of the original comic, putting in characters who weren't introduced in XME.

The worst part of it was not knowing. Not knowing, and hiding there like a baby while the winds raged, faster and fiercer than before, assuring himself that it would be all right, because his mother wasn’t there to reassure him.
Jamie. And Jamie. After the tornado.

Summary
She hadn't really wanted to go to the party. Especially after the adventure they'd already had, getting Kurt and Forge out of that middle-dimension whatever, but it was the principle of the thing; Kurt and Scott had mended their broken bromance, and Kitty was taking one for the team. Because going to Duncan Matthews' party in lieu of studying for the pre-final exam in Hawkins' Geometry class wasn't something she really wanted to do. Especially if freshmen weren't invited anyway.
Evan didn't seem to mind, but he wasn't nearly as cognizant of rules or social graces as she was. he'd probably crashed these sorts of parties tons of times. Kitty wondered briefly how Kurt would even be able to explain his appearance, since his holowatch was broken, but Jean was talking to him even now, working out some plan or other...
It's the principle of the thing. I'm taking one for the team.
Kitty didn't really want to go to the party. But she was taking one for the team. Her musings on her life, what bugs her, what stresses her out, and a certain blue and fuzzy person who likes showing her she shouldn't stress out. Cutesy. Hints of Kurtty.

“Scotty’s an obedient kid, believe it or not,” Jack was saying, bragging to his weird friend. “Ain’tcha Scotty-boy? I always thought so. Took ‘im offa the streets myself, ‘bout a year ago, y’know. He does whatever I tell ‘im to.”
A firm shove, and Scott was mobile; he kept his face carefully neutral as he felt the barrel of a gun at his back.
Scott dreams a dream, has a conversation about it, and gets his butt kicked at cards. Probably. Set directly after "Turn of the Rogue." Scott/Rogue -ness with a nod to the Dysfunctional Teen Mutant Club. Because I like it.

Jamie Madrox always thought up interesting ways to entertain himself. He had to. Life at the institute…heck, even life before the institute was kind of lonely. He’d thought it very ironic that his mutant ability helped him with that…inadvertently.
Being twelve stinks, he decided.
Jamie Madrox. Multiple. A story for him, since he doesn't have nearly enough stories written about him. Season 2 companion

Summary
My name is Roberto Da Costa. I am 15, a star soccer player, a linguist of sorts, and I am a mutant. First Generation Mutant, I suppose, since as far as my parents know they don’t have any mutant traits. Mutant. It’s such a small word. But words can sometimes be misleading. Like the word ‘abbreviation.’ Such a long word, but it means to shorten something…

It’s a kinda funny thing. I know I’m not smart. Not smart like Pietro, or Todd. Lance is really smart too. I know simple things. It’s just how my life is. I was raised on a farm. I never thought I was no different than anyone else.
No one thinks about the simple things. Except him. He has it all figured out, from intermutant peace to empathy for all things. But no one ever listens to Freddy Dukes. For the forgotten ones

He knew how to fall. You can’t train with Logan every day, several times a day, for going on three years without knowing how to fall without hurting yourself.
But it was something else doing it gracefully.
And it was something else again to be pushed.
Takes place during the Season 2 episode "Power Surge." little expansion on that blurb of a scene when Duncan pushes Scott during the Track and Field tryouts. Rated T for swearing.

It was a dream she could do without, Tabby Smith decided, sitting up and feeling quite shaky and sick. She kicked the remaining twisted bedclothes away from her, setting her feet unsteadily on the floor. She shared a room with fellow newbie Amara Aquilla, but Amara was sleeping soundly, not plagued by dreams of jail cells and exploding lasagna.
We know the backgrounds of our favorite xchildren. Some are more unpleasant than others. Perhaps it's time they start a club. companion piece to 'Of Mutants, Soccer, and Portuguese,' with reference to this club Roberto speaks of. Tabbycentric.

Tabitha Smith wasn’t the type to dwell on things that didn’t directly involve her, but The Fight was an exception to her rule. What did she care when Lance decked Pietro? Not so much. She only lived with these guys, no one said she had to understand them too. She didn’t catch what exactly Pietro had said to make Lance punch him, but she’d endured enough soaps with her mom to get the general picture.
Challenge for dA club a sort of 'insert story here' with the prompt of a title: 'The Fight.' Tabby POV What happened on the Brotherhood end when Lance joined the xmen. Complete. Random Drabble.

Summary
Bobby Drake was shivering. Sam thought that odd, since Bobby never really shivered – he controlled ice, for Pete’s sake – but there he was, noticeably shaking as he looked at the computer screen. As his fingers shook, he had trouble typing the computer code – he had to keep pausing to stretch them out.
Sam came forward to offer…comfort? Support? He wasn’t sure, he just wanted the poor guy to stop shaking, and he swore as his hand automatically recoiled from his friend’s shoulder – Bobby was freezing! Ice cold to the touch, and the air around him wasn’t a picnic to stand in either.
“Bobby?” Sam asked tentatively, rubbing his hands together for warmth. “Uh…are you okay?”
“Fine,” he muttered distractedly. Sam noted the evident sheen of frost that had enshrouded most of the control panel.
“You sure?”
End of Season 2, Beginning of Season 3. New Mutants. How did they feel, realizing that they had been left to die? Sam's POV, Jamie awesomeness, and Rahne/Sam and/or Bobby/Jubes if you squint. Rahne's accent kicks my butt.

Summary
Dear Paige,
I’m writing this letter in the room I’m still sharing with Ray. We had to start sharing again because of the renovation. The Professor is adding a little more room to the house, is all. I thought he just wanted another sublevel for the basement, but it turns out I was wrong.
Scott, that’s our leader, he says that he can’t wait until the rooms are ready, but I think he’s just anxious to get out of sharing a room with Kurt. He came in to session the other day pulling fur out of his hair. They haven’t been talking either. I guess you don’t know someone until you’ve shared a room with them. I thought I knew Ray, but that boy can really teach you new words. Don’t tell mama.
Sam Guthrie. Cannonball. When Jubilation and Rahne left, what became of him? What did he do in his free time? And who does he post his letters to?

Summary
He was in no pain; not even so much as a headache. He was laying on his stomach, head cradled in his arms. He was hot, but that wasn’t necessarily injury. Just annoyance. And man, was it hot as Hell. Literally. Not Figuratively. Well, figurative in the sense that he’d never actually visited Hell, more than heard less-than-charming things about its alleged uncomfortably high temperature, not in the figurative sense wherein ‘hot’ meant ‘attractive.’ But hey, what did he know? He could have looked damn fine, right now, languishing in some…what? Desert? High temperature, dusty; it even smelled hot, though that acrid taste in his mouth hardly said anything – he sat up suddenly.
“Where am I?!”AKA Scott's Terrible, Horrible, No-Good, Very Bad Day. In which our hero falls for an internet scheme before it was even a thing, does not speak Spanish, is basically a loser, and really, really, really wants to punch Mystique in the face. Justifiably, tbh. My imagining of the Season 3 episode. Three-shot. Rated T for violence; borderline M for foul language. Jott visible.

Summary
Try to think back, she thought irritably. Rogue had stabbed her wrist with that little screwdriver again. How did I come to be in this situation?
“Sorry,” Rogue muttered, pulling at her gloves. “This is a lot more complicated than it looks.”
Wanda Maximoff didn’t say anything, just gritted her teeth as the little tools poked and bit into the skin on her wrist.
“Babykins, maybe –”
“No, Toad.”
Ah, Toad. Yes, it was a suitable situation to blame Toad for. Toad Tolansky (his actual name was Todd, but no one called him such) was the reason Wanda Maximoff had days like these. Days when she sat, not in class with her brother, learning about the Industrial Revolution for the 3rd week in a row, but in the handicap bathroom stall in the women’s restroom, with none other than Toad himself, Fred Dukes, and Rogue of the ‘x-men’ for company.
A key. Rogue. Patience is a virtue. Sour Patch Kids. Suspicion. A bathroom stall. A picnic. What do these things have in common? They are all elements in this story!

Summary
It was weird, he decided, the things he thought about to keep his mind off the agonizingly bad pain that reverberated through his kneecap. Weird, not only because he thought about the pain anyway, but also because he thought about a lot of things that he really didn’t think about a lot of the time.
How did it come to this though?
When it's your team, the rulebook goes out the window. When it's your teammate who gets injured, you get desperate. And you turn to anyone in your desperation. Even if it's your enemy.

Summary
“Rahne? Don’t tell me you smoke,” came a voice from above her. She glanced upward, grinning at Logan. On lazy days like these ones, when Bobby was making ice sculptures in plain view of passersby, not caring because Christmas was on the way; when Rogue was a little more open to people, more accepting of her layered clothes when they had function other than keeping her skin covered, such as keeping her skin warm;
“Knucklehead by the name of Guthrie lookin’ for ya short stuff,” Logan said gruffly, almost on cue. He looked disapproving. “Should I be concerned? You ain’t old enough to buy those yerself.”
“Rogue bought them for me,” Rahne said, smiling at the disbelief in Logan’s eyes. “Ye canna think I smoke them. They’re ghastly aren’t they? I just like watchin’ th’ smoke.”
Rahne and Logan. Not necessarily intended as a pairing, but upon rereading...it definitely seems to foreshadow some kind of relationship...lots of snow, cigarettes, and broken valuables that Sam will be paying for until the end of time.
