Summary
Bruce was not ready to be a father. Which was fine, really. He was 23 years old, and Duke didn’t want a new father. His parents were still alive, after all, and the boy constantly insisted that they would get better and he would go to live with them again.
Bruce would never tell Duke that he had his doubts. It had been a year since they went missing, six months since they had been found. In those six months, there had been no improvement at all in their condition. They didn’t even recognize their son every Sunday when Bruce took him to go see them and sat outside in the hall for an hour, listening to Duke as the boy started out happily rambling and inevitably ended the visit quiet and holding back tears.
Duke didn’t want a new father. And Bruce didn’t want to take that hope out of the little boy’s eyes.

Summary
Quietly, he trudged towards the main Cave, keeping alert. At a sudden noise, his hand twitched towards his kama, but it was just a bat screeching far above. As he reached the main area, he slowed, tucking himself behind a convenient stalagmite.
Three figures stood in the desolation of the Batcave - Duke was still fairly far away, but he could still recognize his older brothers. Jason stood farther away from the duo of Dick and Tim, twirling a gun around one finger. Dick’s arms were crossed, and he was looking down to talk to Tim, who was crouched to look at something on the ground.
A pebble shifted under Duke’s foot, and he looked away for a second. When he looked back, all three heads had shifted unerringly in his direction.

Summary
For the first time, Alfred had all of his Pack together on a full moon. It was a special night, as well - it had finally come time for Jason’s Turning.
Traditionally in the Wayne Pack, pups were Turned on the full moon after their 16th birthday. If they didn’t wish to be weres, no one forced them, but all of Bruce’s children so far had enthusiastically agreed to being Turned.
But Jason had died before he reached that night.
So it was a different setting than Alfred had once planned - Jason had four younger siblings, now, and wouldn’t be the fourth wolf of their pack, but the sixth.Series

Summary
“Something’s wrong,” Dick murmured into his champagne glass, faking a sip. His siblings, gathered around the circular table, all perked up, inconspicuously glancing around the room. The gala had hit its peak around forty minutes ago and was beginning to wind down, which meant that the Wayne children had sat back down at their table to pick at the remains of their food and chat idly until their father motioned that it was time to go home.
Damian, cradled in Cass’ lap, shifted so his eyes were hidden behind the curtain of her hair, allowing him to look around while people thought he was sleeping on his sister. Cass’ head tipped towards Steph’s, giving the appearance of a whispered flirty conversation to hide the fact that they were searching the room. Jason, slumped over onto the table, twirled his spoon around his fingers, seemingly fidgeting but truly using the reflective surface to look around the room. Tim and Duke had their backs to the wall, looking at Tim’s phone; originally they had been playing a game, but a tap of Tim’s finger and his camera was open, letting them look around as well. But Dick wasn’t looking at the rest of the room.
Something was wrong with Bruce.

Summary
Bruce absconded with Tage about three seconds after Jason walked in the front door. Jason was left standing there, his arms still in the air as if he were still cradling his son.
“I see how it is!” He called after his father, mostly joking. “Now that I’ve got a kid, he’s all that’s important. No, I get it.”
Bruce turned around and came back, hugging Jason and squishing Tage between them until the little boy was giggling and squirming. Dramatically, Bruce said, “Oh, Jason, my second born, darling boy, how I miss you when you’re gone, Jaylad,” until Jason laughed and pushed him away.

Summary
“And-” He cut himself off as he noticed Alfred looking at him. Those gem green eyes lightened, an air of relief overtaking him. “Pennyworth, you’re awake!”
Alfred, unable to help himself, sent a helpless look to Dick, whose mouth pinched into a thin line.
“Damian, listen,” He started gently, and the boy began to shut down, obviously aware that it wasn’t going to be good news. “Alfred has amnesia.”Series

Summary
The Justice League was in the middle of a meeting when the portal opened. They were immediately wary when Batman stumbled through.
This was a different Batman - for one thing, their Batman was sitting at the table with them. But this new man was bigger, bulky and tall; his suit was thicker, with heavier armor and more storage; and most damning, he carried a gun on either hip. Although weapons were pulled out in preparation for an attack, that wasn’t his intent. He fell to one knee, using it to support himself as he looked up and around the table. When he saw their Batman, a breath hissed through his teeth. Still, his voice was deep and steady when he said, “Did the old man ever teach you about good grammar?”
Without a word, their Batman leaped across the table, landing nimbly beside the other man and pulling him to his feet.
“Don’t follow,” He ordered in that familiar growl, supporting his burden to the zetas. Before anyone could offer protest, the alert went off that they had been used, leaving the rest of the League ready for a fight against no one.Series
