Summary
A parasite sprang from the rubble and he smashed it down viciously. The crowbar pinned it to the floor, its innards leaking even as it scrabbled for escape. The thing whined and screeched and died, fighting every second. Maybe a biologist could have told him why the thing was hostile, or what mechanism drove it to seek a human host, but he was not a biologist. He was a physicist, and he'd decided to live.

Summary
What happens when Freeman refuses the G-Man's offer? Is there such a thing as an "unwinnable battle" to Freeman, after Black Mesa? And what happened during those twenty years? Freeman didn't age, but that doesn't mean he didn't move forward. He didn't accept the job offer, not at first, but the G-Man isn't much for fair choices. Shades of Edge of Tomorrow.

Summary
Various short bits, scenes and total nonsense set in Crowbar timeline, mostly during HL2.
Freeman is not a nice guy but then neither is the world he's in. If he were, he wouldn't be the one in the HEV. But some people would rather see him out of it, a bit more human, and push him in that direction step by hard-won step. It might take the end of the world (again) but somewhere in there is a regular guy who might just need a cup of coffee (and a beer.)Series

Summary
After a hunter chase around White Forest, Freeman reconciles himself to a long night of sore muscles and a broken HEV. Barney can't fix the HEV but he knows a thing or two about back pain. He also knows a thing or two about wound-up soldiers and what Freeman's capable of. Working out a knot is going to require a little untying on both sides.
This is what passes for "fluff" in the Crowbar continuity!
Chapter 1: Calhoun POV

Summary
White Forest does its best to celebrate the first human holiday on the calendar after the rocket launch. While he'd much rather keep working, Freeman eventually makes it outside the lab to see what all the nonsense is about and decides maybe that was a good decision after all.
