Steve Rogers may have become Captain America, but he's still the same scrawny kid from Brooklyn in his heart, especially when it comes to Bucky Barnes.

Summary
Sometimes Steve doesn’t get it. This, for example. He doesn’t get this. Or rather, he doesn’t get how he can have this. He knows enough of Bucky’s trauma to know that sharing a bed with him isn’t something he has ever expected to do. And like this, with Bucky pressed against his chest and Steve’s arms wrapped so tightly around him…he can hardly believe they can have this, together.

Summary
Tony has no idea if Steve is privy to Howard Stark’s crimes, which means he can’t just outright call bullshit. Bucky can be notoriously selective over who he cares and shares with. Which… is part of the reason why Tony is here. That’s for later. For now…
“He did nearly break my third favorite coffee machine. Is he a good cook?”
Steve laughs, and it sounds so happy and light that Tony wants to bottle it. “God no, but-“
“I will eat every bite and lie through my teeth, got it.”
“You’re a good man, Tony,” Steve says it like he means it, and the kicker is he does. Tony’s father is the reason Bucky even has bad nights to begin with. Tony is…
He came here for a reason. Focus.

Summary
There is something particularly wonderous in watching Steve Rogers emerge from a crystal blue ocean wearing only a pair of indecently clingy trunks and a sun-drunk smile. Water glistens as it drips down the strong lines of body, Irish paleness finally beaten into submission by a couple of months of the best weather either of them has seen in their lives.
It's worth getting sand in uncomfortable places to appreciate the view. Loving Steve is as natural to him as breathing and much more trustworthy than most of his instincts.
Being attracted to him is an entirely new phenomenon.
--
Safe in their new bubble of tranquility, Bucky tries to make peace with new wants and desires. That means opening up to old fears.
