But there's a few bumps in the road. Bumps that leave Lance both mentally and physically scarred.
He will have to live with the guilt written on his face for the rest of his life, a permanent reminder.

Lance copes with his crushing need to be perfect; to improve himself and be on the same level as his peers. They try to reassure him that it's okay, that he is enough, but he can't believe them. He starts losing sleep over it, skipping meals, and it starts to take its toll.
His teammates are there for him though.
