The scent of ash and brimstone was sharp in the air while the clouds above blackened as the rest of the fires nearby continued to lick the air wishing for more kindling. An eruption in the distance exploded signifying the distant volcano wanting to roar once again, and yet, despite the terror that should have been flittering through the village before only the sounds of thunder rolled through the night.
Bodies were scattered on the ground spilling their blood to feed the earth. Only one figure was left standing in the center of the destruction that was slowly being shown to the light. Standing in the center of the carnage was a lone man - eyes dark as the night itself with a face reminiscent of demons that haunted the dreams of mere men.
“Sanji!” Luffy shouted towards the figure only to gawk as they turned fully towards them but it was the Demon of the East who stepped forward. Zoro’s body stepped closer, but there was nothing but darkness behind that gaze as he leveled the glistening blood soaked sword up ready for another duel.
“Kitetsu!” A smoker’s voice called out next shifting the attention of the swordsman - blade now fixated on a new target, “Let him go.”
