“Oh, good news at least. Dazai-san will be at the party. They just might be late.”
“What’s the over/under on the appropriateness of his costume this year?”
“I don’t take bets with you; we share a bank account.” Atsushi glanced up at Akutagawa, who was watching the conversation with detached interest. “Last year Dazai-san came wearing only bandages,” he explained, and then shook his head. “Most people at least wear shorts under the bandages if they’re dressing as a mummy….”
“Most people also don’t attempt to fling themselves out the fifth-floor window when left to their own devices and the liquor unattended.”
“This is also true.”

“Oh? You know, they do say idle hands are the devil"s workshop. What makes you so lost?” Atsushi probed as he adjusted his shoulders slightly, creating more space for Akutagawa to come closer.
“Many things. My past, my present. You.” Akutagawa replied, his voice trailing off at the end of his sentence.

Akutagawa and Atsushi find themselves stuck overnight in a cold forest, with the only company they have being each other, and the stars.

Summary
Despite his cruel past, Atsushi has a natural eye for beauty, which draws him to study art. That includes Diablo, a social media influencer who practices pole dancing. Curious about the life Diablo leads, Atsushi soon learns how small the world really is. After a chance encounter at a coffee shop, he finds his wants may not be as impossible as he first thought.

“Who’s asking?” He bristled, instinctively reacting as if Dazai had been teasing him for an unserious topic.
“Well, I am,”
“Then no. I don’t believe in them.”
“Not even if it stared at you in the face? My my Akutagawa-Kun, I thought you were smarter than that.” His face felt like it was on fire, and he didn’t even have a good counterpoint, so he kept his mouth shut.
“Cat got your tongue Akutagawa-Kun?” Akutagawa scowled, and he fought back the urge to stomp on Dazai’s foot with that grin directed at him.
Or the one where Akutagawa goes on a spy mission, befriends a barista, figures out who"s gossiping about him, and finds his soulmate. Not necessarily in that order

A new agent at Lobotomy Corporation, Atsushi quickly realizes he is in over his head conducting research on the terrifying abnormalities housed by the corporation. He wants to get stronger, to be more like senior researcher Akutagawa, but between the other man"s sharp personality and the dangerous abnormalities, nothing is certain.
