Summary
There was nothing.
No figure standing there. No telltale presence lingering. Just the stale air and the flicker of lights overhead. He swallowed hard, his breath hitching. His fists clenched at his sides, the nails digging into his palms.
It wasn’t real. It couldn’t be real.
But for a fleeting moment, he’d thought it was him. He thought Suguru had come back.
He let out a bitter laugh that echoed through the empty station, sounding hollow against the concrete walls. Suguru wasn’t coming back. He’d made his choice, and Satoru had to live with it. Or maybe, survive with it. Because what else was left?
A train roared into the station, its headlights piercing through the gloom like a cruel reminder of reality. Satoru stayed rooted in place, his shadow stretching across the platform as the train screeched to a halt. He didn’t move. He didn’t board. He couldn’t.
The cursed energy was gone now, faded into the storm outside.
But the ache it left behind stayed.

What happened with Satoru after Suguru had left him, without giving any reason why he had done so.
