    “I don’t believe you,” Tommy says, narrowing his eyes a little as he tries his best to remember what this creature is — there was a time at his old village when a woman would read him stories of old fables, of scary monsters that lived in the woods, and of a particular one that would lure little children out in the hopes of stealing their name…

     

    “I swear it,” the thing continues, its tone dripping of honey and false promises, the feeling of warmth rushing through Tommy like a great wave of summertime sunlight.

There was no way he was getting Phil to ask if he could nest in the storage room like he had the first night, not after their fight just hours ago.

    Really, he wasn’t sure he would ever be able to look Phil in the face again.

    Ranboo didn’t even hear him join the VC, but the chat spamming definitely has, which is embarrassing to say the least. “Hey, Tommy. I was looking at my phone, sorry.”

    Tommy scoffs. “When you’re supposed to be comfort streaming? How dare you- I’m unsubscribing right now, and you should, too, chat.” He clicks loudly at his keyboard, and the remaining anxiety in Ranboo’s chest quiets down.

    “I’m sorry, I’m sorry!” Ranboo pleads, laughing. “I’ll be comforting- here!” He starts running in-game, breaking any block he sees. “See? Mhm mhm, breaking blocks. How are you, chat? What’s new in your life? Is that better, Tommy?”

Tommy is frozen, unable to form a single syllable in his unyielding fear. His heart beats faster with each step Dream takes, like a great wolf closing in on its helpless prey. He is helpless, he can’t do anything to stop him from hurting him he’ll just take him away–

    Sapnap meets his gaze, understanding suddenly rippling through his expression. Tommy realizes that he does not have to explain his paralyzing terror. Because Sapnap can see it, he knows. And he has no love for Dream, he has no reason to help him.

    “No.” Sapnap says curtly, turning back to Dream. “He’s on Kinoko land, he’s under our protection.”

    -

    TLDR; After being saved from his tormentor by Sapnap, Tommy is given refuge (and maybe a family) in Kinoko Kingdom. Trauma talks over chocolate milk at midnight ensue.

    (Meanwhile, too many are people are out for revenge).

    The fae was tall. Much taller than Tommy, and probably anyone else in the village for that matter. Hair the color of dark oak spilled over his forehead in tumbling curls. Flecks of gold dotted his cheeks like freckles, sitting underneath a pair of knowing eyes that seemed to flash between shades of earth and honey. His tall frame was draped in the most expensive-looking clothes Tommy had ever seen—flowing fabric in shades of snow and sunlight billowed in the light breeze. And there was so much jewelry. Gold bands decorated his arms, dangling gems decorated his pointed ears, and a shimmering gold circlet rested on his forehead.

    Past the beauty though, there was danger. His nails were pointed, his teeth too sharp. When Tommy tried to look him in the eyes, his head grew fuzzy, as if perceiving the fae directly wasn’t something he was supposed to attempt.

    He was smiling as he looked over Tommy.

    “Are you lost?” He asked in that same lyrical voice.

    “Crown Princes Wilbur and Techno, heirs to the throne,” Wilbur answered. Techno watched as the boy’s facade fell, a confused and sad expression falling over his face as the words settled in. “And I think we deserve to know who’s claiming our palace as their own.”

    “You– you’re, no– what?” The boy stumbled back a step, bringing his hands up to his chest to cradle them close. “Did they not tell you about me?” the boy asked, blue eyes glimmering in the light, crystalline tears beginning to gather around his lashes. “I’m Theseus.”

    Or, Tommy is the forgotten royal bastard. He's spent his whole life wishing that his family will take him home. It just so happens that his cousins are visiting for the summer, and they have no idea who he is. He can only hope that he'll be remembered and be loved the way he deserves.
