Summary
“I don’t think this is any of your concern, son,” he establishes firmly, glancing over Zuko to where Katara’s disappeared around the corner.
A chill shoots down Zuko’s spine, and when Hakoda steps right, Zuko moves again to block his way.

Summary
It’s only when the Fire Sages are completely out of sight, Azula in tow, that Zuko exhales. He slumps involuntarily into Katara and of course she’s ready to catch him, as if she’s been expecting this all along.
“I’m fine,” Zuko pants, even though his legs aren’t quite cooperating. “Sorry. Just dizzy. That’s all.”
Katara’s not buying it. “You really need to lie down.”
“Just—just for a few minutes,” he concedes, and maybe he should’ve put up more of a fight, because judging by Katara’s face, actually agreeing to rest might be the most worrying sign he could’ve given her.

Summary
When Zuko was born he only had one soul bond, and it was broken. Well, maybe it would be more accurate to say it was defective, because ‘broken’ implied it had once worked and could be made to work again.

Summary
“The Avatar’s resurfaced."
“That’s impossible.” Zuko frowned, “The Avatar is dead. Definitely, completely dead. No one has seen an Avatar in almost a hundred years.”
“Correction: no one had seen the Avatar in almost a hundred years until he appeared in some nothing village in the South Pole three months ago."
OR
When The Avatar resurfaces, Zuko is in Ba Sing Se taking care of his younger sister Kiyi. He doesn't plan on having anything to do with the Avatar or the War. Apparently, the Universe has other ideas. Then again, when has it ever cared what Zuko thought?

Summary
OK, so Zuko probably does know why Aang and Katara are here. He had, perhaps, been a tad dramatic in his letters to inform each of them that Mai had—there really was no other word for it—dumped him.
Or: Aang and Zuko are each other's breakup calls. But it's a little more complicated than that.

Summary
Zuko likes the sun, which is normal for firebenders. That's where they draw their powers from, therefore the connection is obvious. Zuko, like everyone else in his family, rises with the sun. He's seen his uncle meditate outside in warm sunny mornings. Zuko and Lu ten used to lay outside together for hours. Zuko and his mom spend their time outside by the pond feeding the turtleducks.
Zuko knows liking the sun is natural, but he knows it's not natural to spend a whole day laying out in the garden and not feel an inch of hunger even if he accidentally skipped every meal of the day.-

Summary
Hidden in the deepest darkest corner of the Palace, the imprisoned Prince Zuko serves out his punishment and waits - and waits to be pardoned and released by his father.
Not knowing that Fire Lord Ozai has already declared to the world that his son has died.
Until a strange group of kids invade the Royal Palace, and accidentally rescue the formerly dead Prince Zuko...
— their invasion had gone to shreds since the Fire Lord had disappeared, and now there was an unconscious maybe-probably-enemy lying by his feet.
"Oh great, NOW what??” Sokka flailed both of his hands towards the boy. "When I said we could loot some stuff from the Royal Palace, I didn’t mean THIS!!"
As usual, Katara ignored his extremely valid point.
"We need to hurry," she said, as if Sokka didn’t already know that, it was his plan, "- can you carry him, Sokka? We have to take him with us."

Summary
When Azula is nine, she becomes an only child. She hears the Fire Lord call for Zuko's life, and in the morning, her mother and brother are gone. Azula may be young, but she isn't naive. She knows what happened to them.
Which makes it all the more surprising when Azula tracks the Avatar down and fights his group of peasant friends, only to find herself staring into an eerily familiar face.

Summary
[Time passes oddly. Between one second and the next, Sokka has the Fire Lord pinned to the wall with his hands around the bastard’s throat. Golden eyes (one gold eye, his mind whispers) widen in shock.
“Sokka?” he chokes out. And then he smiles.
What the fuck?
“Sokka, I—”
Sokka slams his head against the wall, once, twice, and the smile wipes off his face. Good.
“What,” Sokka bites out, “have you done to my sister?”]
Or:
An injury leaves Sokka with amnesia. His last memory is of the failed invasion, of leaving his father behind in enemy territory on the Day of Black Sun. Of hopelessness. Rage.
But then he wakes up, and the war is over. Suddenly, he must come to terms with the fact that years have passed, and that he's somehow the Southern Water Tribe Ambassador to the Fire Nation. He is also supposedly friends with banished-Prince-turned-Fire-Lord Zuko, of all people. Close friends.
Yeah, nah.

What would have changed if the Prince had decided differently at the crossroads? The end result might have been the same , but sometimes, what matters is what is gained from the journey itself.
Follow to see what would have happened if Prince Zuko had changed his path sooner.I don't own ATLA or the characters except for some I have made up.

Summary
“And if you can’t see all those things where you’re great at, Zuko, then that’s ok. It’s sad and unjustified, but it’s ok. But, please, accept that other people do see those great achievements and talents in you and want to point them out and compliment them.”
or
Zuko is shitty at accepting praise as the members of the Gaang find out over the years. Naturally, each of his friends try to remedy that in their own ways - with various levels of success.
Featuring a very confused Earth Kingdom merchant, climatical advantages, pot plants, too much alcohol, all the drama, and the healing power of time and friendship.
Sequel to my Work “Harmony” but can be read as a stand-alone!-
