Let's start another adventure! This Gift Exchange is open to both artist and writers.

It's a year round of gift giving. Receive at least 3 gifts on your birthday and get assigned at least 3 birthdays to fulfill in return. You may submit gifts early and they will be revealed on the celebrant's day.

1. Join!

---Fill up this application form before March 20, 2021, 11 p.m. PST (=March 21, 5 p.m. MNL). This will be the first batch of participants for the March 2021 to March 2022 cycle.
---Signups will reopen on May 1, 1 a.m. PST and close May 5, 11 p.m. PST. If you join within 30 days of your birthday during the May signups and onwards, you will receive a gift on the next gifting cycle (i.e. Signed up on May 2, 2021 and Birthday is on May 20. You will receive gifts on May 20, 2022). You may wish to check out the ToG Turtles Calendar of Events for other available Gift Exchanges too.

2. Assignment Confirmation

---For the initial batch, you will be contacted before March 21, Sun, 11 p.m. PST with your assignments. Those who join after this will be contacted within a week to give you your birthday assignments.
---If the birthdates are acceptable then you may start working on the given prompts.
---You may request to change your birthdate assignments only once, right after they are given. Once you accept the assignments, changes will not be allowed unless you find someone to willingly swap with you. Advise Jo or Mori immediately of any swaps.

3. Fanfic Submission

---Fanfic gifts should be 1k words min, 5k words max, (Min words is definite but Max words is a guideline. Don't stress!)
---Should be submitted on Ao3 to the 'ToG Turtles Birthday Gift Exchange' Collection [ Togturtlesbday ]
---If your Secret Turtle Baby has an Ao3 account, please gift the fic to them. Else, indicate their name on the Opening Notes.
---You may post about your fanfic on Twitter starting at 1 a.m. PST of your recipient's birthday.

4. Fanart Submission

Fanart should be submitted to me and will all be gathered in the Ao3 Birthday Fanart Gallery Posts. There will be one for SFW works and another for NSFW works
---Fanart gifts should be labeled with your name and uploaded to the ToG Turtles Bday GE google drive folder
---The file can be in jpg, png or gif format.
---Dm me as soon as you do so I can transfer out the files from there and put them in the Ao3 Gallery Post.
---You may post your fanart on Twitter starting at 1 a.m. PST of your recipient's birthday.

5. Submission Deadline

---This is an Unrevealed Collection so you may submit your work to the collection as soon as they are completed and they will remain hidden until the reveal. Early submissions are encouraged.
---The deadline for submitting work is 24 hrs before 1 a.m. PST of the given birthday. (i.e. if the birthday assigned to you is January 20, then the deadline for submitting work is 1 a.m. PST Jan 19).

6. Submitting work for birthdays aside from those assigned

---All Participants of the exchange will be notified through the ToG Turtle Treats Discord Server of the incoming birthdays for the next month and provided the prompts so that you can also give gifts if you wish.
---These voluntary gifts are encouraged but not mandatory and may be submitted on the day of the birthday itself.
---However, please make sure they do not hinder you from submitting your gift assignments.
---Don't forget to add them to the Ao3 Collection or submit them for the gallery as well.

7. Gifts Reveal

---All gifts to for a birthday will be revealed at 1 a.m. PST of the birthday.
---This is also when gifts may be posted on twitter with the tag #togturtlesbday or to other sites so long as a link is provided to link back to this collection: https://archiveofourown.org/collections/Togturtlesbday

1. Deadline

---A gentle reminder that gift assignments must be submitted 24 hrs before the birthday gift reveal.
For example:
Birthday = January 20
Gift Reveal = January 20, 1 a.m. PST (=Jan 20, 5pm MNL)
Deadline = for fanfic submission to the collection and fanart submission to the google drive
=January 19, 1 a.m. PST (=Jan 19, 5pm MNL).

---Anyone who is unable to meet the deadline must give at least 24hrs notice before the deadline and may be prohibited from joining or given stricter requirements for future exchanges.

2. Ratings

Please tag the rating and all trigger warnings appropriately for both fanart and fanfics.

⋆ Explicit
-- describes, in detail, sexual as well as extremely violent acts.
-- all NSFW works.
⋆ Mature
-- is the fade to black; sexual and violent acts mentioned in passing or merely implied.
-- includes all dark themes.

*I would encourage everyone to always fall on the side of caution. Better to rate something higher than rate it low and unpleasantly surprise people.
**And finally: When in doubt, warn for it. Let your readers/viewers know why you are rating something the way you are, so that they can make informed decisions. If you are aware that there is a potential trigger in your story, warn for it in the author’s notes at the beginning of the story.

3. Ship Tagging

Please tag all relevant ships included in the fanfic properly.

⋆ name&name is a platonic ship

4. Posting to Twitter and other sites aside from Ao3

---Creators may post their Fanart and about fanfics on Twitter starting at 1 a.m. PST of the birthday.

---All gifts posted on twitter must be tagged with #togturtlesbday

---All gifts posted by their creators elsewhere must provide a link to the ToG Turtles Birthday Gift Exchange 2021 collection - https://archiveofourown.org/collections/Togturtlesbday
