Summary
Wen Ning was sure this death would be permanent. There wasn't a Wei Wuxian to resurrect him and he figured it was better that way. Almost all those he loved were gone anyway so there was no reason to stay. If given the chance there were things he would do differently. People he would talk to sooner. Relationships he would foster faster. But he was dead, and there would be no third time.
Turns out the Universe had a horrible sense of humor.

But instead of darkness; he finds himself back in the past when he had just gotten kicked out of the cloud recess and everything looks so peaceful he can’t stand it. No…no no no he really can’t go through this hell again. Not again. Not after everything was supposed to be over.
Not knowing that Lan WangJi has been thrown back in time as well; he tries; and fails at taking his own life by slitting his throat open in the middle of lotus pier and so; he decides to show everyone the future.
If he’s going to live this hell again; he’s going to change it and if these people are suddenly so determined to keep him alive; then he’s not going to let them die either.It doesn’t matter if they end up hating him just as much as he hates himself.

Being reborn was absurd, but it had happened. There was nothing I could do but to live with it as best as I could. If I had been asked for my opinion, I would not have chosen a world with supernatural elements, especially not one where the greatest threat appeared to be other people. However, it is what it is. And well, it was looking like that was not going to be a problem for much longer. It seemed I would be saying goodbye to this second chance at life well before my third birthday.
I had to live with being part of the world of Grandmaster of demonic cultivation, but to add insult to injury, I was reborn as a Wen child doomed to die (going by how he was never mentioned in the original work) yet far too young to be able to affect the events or change the fate of those around me before most of the tragedies came to pass. Nie Qiaolian (OC/reader?) born into the Nie sect as the younger sister to Nie Mingjue and the older sister to Huaisang. She first met Lan Xichen when her father was still alive and her elder brother had only just gotten his saber. As both Qiaolian and Xichen grew up they grew closer. Their friendship stood through the death of their parents through letters and Sect meetings.
When Huaisang goes to the Cloud Recesses for his 2nd attempt at passing Qiaolian goes with to keep him in line and see if the Lan Sect Library might have anything to help with the Nie's Qi Deviations. During her time there she fights the waterborne abyss, grow closer to Xichen, meets with informants, and co-conspire with Yanli and Xichen to give wangxian a push in the right direction. Unfortunately the trip was cut short as she needed to go and finish the last of her training with her infamous uncle Zhuliu.
She was there when cloud recess burned, plunging the sects into a time of secrets and war.
Will love win out or will she fall victim to the same fate that claimed your mother's sect?
