Summary
“I didn’t know where else to go,” Nico di Angelo said in a rush, standing in front of her apartment with a tired look on his too young face. “I—I’ve been looking for Percy,” he continued, sniffling slightly. He scuffed one foot along the floor. “But I haven’t had any luck.”
Sally opened the door even more widely. She didn’t have soup to offer him, not yet, but she had freshly baked cookies and leftover takeout. “Come in,” she ordered softly. “You’re always welcome here.”
Nico blinked up at her, looking far younger than his years, then allowed Sally to usher him through the entryway and into the small but warm kitchen. She smiled at him, just like she would at Percy. She may not have her son with her, may not be able to help him, but she could help Nico. When Annabeth returned, she could help Annabeth, as well as any other demigod who may cross her path.
She'd even be sure to have freshly made blue cookies, always.
—
Sally Jackson was no saint, no matter what her son (or, apparently, Hestia), seemed to think. But she would never turn down a child in need. She couldn’t help on quests, but she could give them a mother’s love, and a space to be safe. And, of course, some blue cookies.

Summary
"You are doubting," Artemis noted.
Thalia looked up at Artemis again, eyes wide. "Never, my lady!" she insisted. "I could never doubt you."
"Not me, Thalia," she chided gently. "You are doubting yourself and your place."
"My place is with you," Thalia said.
“Are you sure?" Artemis asked, an expression in her eyes Thalia had never seen before. She stared at the goddess' face, feeling like she was about to fall into the abyss. She had spent so much time walking with the gods that she often forgot how much more they were.
———
Thalia Grace has seen and faced much in her life. She'd seen her mother drive herself mad for love, her brother disappear without a trace, monsters beyond most people's wildest imaginations, and so much more.
She had not expected it to be so hard to live in peace.

Summary
Poseidon decides that Percy’s done enough in his short life, and takes matters into his own hands. His beloved child needn’t suffer any longer. Nothing will cause him pain, distress, frustration, or any minor inconvenience.
Percy had been prepared for many things as a demigod. He had not, however, been prepared for an overprotective godly father.
—
Or, five times Poseidon “protected” Percy, and one time he didn't need to.

Summary
Thalia didn’t know how she ended up here, or if she regretted it. She was in a convenience store somewhere in Manhattan that seemed to specialize in selling overpriced snacks and lottery tickets, and she was looking for a lipstick shade that matched her soon to be dyed hair.
Percy walked out from behind one of the aisles, holding a pack of something. “Gum,” he said. “For the road.”

Summary
"Who said anything about a quest, child?" Amphitrite asked, laughter in her voice. It reminded Percy of Kymopoleia's, much to his discomfort. He hardly had good memories of his godly sister.
“Gods don’t tend to want anything else from me,” Percy pointed out dryly. “You lot always want something.”
“Of course I want something,” Amphitrite said, voice awash in amusement. “I want you to come to Atlantis,” she continued, cutting him off right as he was about to speak. She started to walk again, bypassing throngs of gaping students. She was hiding her divinity, but she still looked so much more than human. “As I said, your father misses your presence. And he is incredibly irritating when he sulks.”
—
Or, Percy spends some time with his godly stepmother, much to his bafflement.
