Hitoshi nodded, “I’m sure. If I wasn’t, I wouldn’t have searched for you.”
When he heard about Dimentyme’s quirk, curiosity propelled him to take that leap. He wanted to lay the ghosts of Hatake Kakashi’s past to rest. Breaking the perpetual loop of being held hostage to the past was the last thing he needed before he could fully live his life as Shinsou Hitoshi.
Yet the trip for closure ended up more than he’d ever bargained for. Somewhere along the way he fought an old man, joined a child soldier organization, and gave Aizawa the impression that he’d been kidnapped.
Hitoshi swore he had everything under control. It wasn’t his fault nothing in his life ever went according to the plan.

When Shouta first opens his eyes, he’s not quite sure what happened or where he is. The light streaming in through a window suggests it’s midday, but the last thing he remembers is being out on patrol in the middle of the night.
He pulls out his phone to check the time, but it’s not his phone. No… it’s one of his old phones. He’s pretty sure he broke this one in a fight. Yet here it is, working fine sans a few cracks in the screen.
The date on the lock screen is wrong. The year is even more wrong. He checks his texts, the internet, his emails, just in case Hitoshi decided to play some sort of prank on him, but everything he can find lines up with the year emblazoned on the calendar.
Shouta is ten years in his own past.
