Summary
“They found Buck.”
Hen’s hand goes to her chest. Chim stumbles like he’s been hit, hand curling around the back of a chair for balance.
And Eddie -
Eddie’s knees give out. He’s lucky there’s a chair right under him because he just buckles, head in hands, trying to remember how to breathe.
“Is he - did they - what…what did they find?”
“He’s alive.”
“What?” Eddie’s head snaps up.

Summary
“Hey,” Braden said with a snap of his fingers in Bobby’s face. “Don’t worry about him. He’s fine. So long as you behave.”
But that was the thing about being exposed to strangers. They saw but they didn’t know. Bobby was worried about Buck but he was always worried about Buck. Every call, every bad day, every good day. Buck was on the forefront of his mind right next to the kids and Athena.
He should’ve sent Buck home that morning.

Summary
“Don’t look, Buck, but I think you might have some competition.” Chim sounds way too amused for his own good.
Buck’s eyes settled onto the naked, beautiful, toned torso of a man. Buck is really good at schooling his face until his eyes slide up to the new recruit’s face and suddenly the jealousy and tension fades away.
“Diaz!?” Buck’s already walking towards the locker room when Eddie looks up. The shocked surprise on his face is evident. And, well.
;or
Buck and Eddie met in basic training. Buck hasn't seen Eddie since the day he left the army, but he's never forgotten him.

Summary
“I’m not leaving you, Buck.” Eddie says with a tired sigh, like he’s struggling with the weight of the world and Buck’s the one who put it there. “Just switching jobs, that’s all.”
That’s all?, Buck wants to scream, because every relationship he has is tied to the job in some way, and first Maddie left, and then it was Chimney, and now it’s Eddie. But he doesn’t scream, because that would be a little bit too tragic, even for him, and nods instead. Bites his tongue. Pretends that he isn't falling apart where he's stood.
***
Or, set post season 5A, where Buck is alone, and angry, and exhausted, but mostly terrified that everyone he loves is slowly slipping away from him.
**rated mature for heavy themes**

Summary
“Woah!”
He grips the yellow collar of that shirt, dragging Chris away from the roaring current and to his chest. Once they’re safe and secure in the center of the truck, he lets himself breathe.
“Ok,” Buck chokes. “We’re just gonna sit like this for a while, alright?”
Christopher nods, holding him just as tight. “Sounds good.”
OR
Buck catches Chris before he falls into the water. Now, it's up to him to get them through the carnage of the tsunami and back to his father. At any cost.
