Bucky quite liked working at the niche overpriced coffee shop in Midtown Manhattan. There had been a time not so long ago where he thought he would never get to be anything but a gun or a broken man, when talking to strangers was as absurd an idea as growing back his left arm. So he liked it here, filling a ginormous to-go cup with boiling black coffee then popping the lid on and sliding it onto the pick-up counter.
Bucky is a traumatized Alpha who likes other Alphas; Steve is an Alpha born in the wrong body. Plot occurs.

Summary
Darcy thinks looking at Bucky Barnes is a great way to pass time, but he's pretty scarce even though they live in the same building. After a few nudges from Steve and scamming the Secret Santa gift exchange, she manages to get Bucky alone, only to realizes he's a lot more than just a hot body. Bucky can't seem to remember how to interact with people, but Steve seems to think that the girl from the labs can help. It doesn't take long to realize that Steve might be right.

Eventually discovering his secret doesn't stop her from inviting him to come along to her parents' house as her fake boyfriend. Bucky can't seem to stay away from the pretty brunette with the big eyes, not even when spending time with her means meeting her parents before he's even kissed her.
