Work Text:
Ginny had been trying to get Hermione and Charlie to admit they loved her for a while. When Hermione had broken up with Ron and Charlie had come home immediately not to console his brother; but to see how Hermione was doing was the first clue.
And then when Hermione had come rushing to St Mungos when Charlie had barely a knick on him from a baby dragon she knew she was correct.
All of the family were invested in it as well— even Ron who was happily married to Susan. They all wanted to see Hermione and Charlie happy. But trying to get them in the same place at the same time had proved difficult.
That was when Fred, George, Ron and Ginny decided that they would trick the pair into thinking something was wrong and getting them to rush here.
Ginny wrote to Hermione and said Charlie was in trouble and Fred wrote to Charlie and said Hermione was in trouble. It wasn’t long before they came rushing back to the Burrow and Fred and George used one of their new products to lock the two in the den until they admitted their feelings and kissed.
Hermione sat on the sofa watching as Charlie tried to escape the room.
Once they had been told what was happening they both tried to escape, after a while Hermione gave up and just sat there pondering how she actually did feel about Charlie.
Was she in love with him? Is that why she could never keep a stable relationship?
Maybe it was. Maybe they should just say it and see if it broke the spell?
“Charlie. Stop. Maybe we should talk, they obviously aren’t going to let us out until we stop and admit how we feel!” Hermione said.
“How do we feel?”
“Well let’s face it. Both of us can’t hold a stable relationship since that night together. Can we? Maybe it’s saying something. Maybe I do love you?” Hermione rambled.
“Maybe you love me? You don’t even know?” Charlie asked.
“Well I’ve never really thought about it have I?” Hermione replied.
“Well think about it,” Charlie yelled, “Because I know I love you,”
“You do?”
“Of course I do. Don’t you wonder why I only come home when you come home?” Charlie asked her, “I haven’t told you because I wanted it to be a sure thing.”
“Charlie, sit down please,” Hermione begged.
Charlie moved to sit by her and then couldn’t help himself, he kissed her. He had to do it once more before she told him she didn’t feel the way he did.
Hermione let herself sink into the kiss and thought about the way it made her feel.
When they separated, Charlie just sat there until she spoke.
“I love you, Charlie. I think I always have,” she said.
“Well about damn time,” Ginny said walking into the den and sitting beside them. “We all saw it.”
“Yes we know. We are idiots,” Charlie said.
“Now can you leave us to talk, please?” Hermione asked.
Ginny left them to talk and finally figure out where they wanted their relationship to go.
The whole family sat in the kitchen hoping they wouldn’t ruin it.
