Yoongi sometimes chuckles at his jokes. So, Seokjin assumed it would be a no brainer.

Work Text:

Seokjin had made quite a few bad decisions in his life. Honestly, he was starting to be known for his bad decisions. It was getting to the point where he would text his best friend Yoongi and say “Guess what I did today” and Yoongi would send a voice recording back of him yelling “No!”.

Now, maybe Seokjin should at least regret these bad decisions, but he has never regretted anything ever in his entire life. If things go wrong he just shrugs and says ‘oh well!’ and assumes that whatever happened was the work of fate. Yoongi is probably sick of his antics and Seokjin isn’t quite sure how they’re still friends, but assumes that must be the work of fate too (even if Yoongi hates it whenever Seokjin says that).

Now the worst decision Seokjin had ever made happened just a month before. It was so bad that even Seokjin was close to regretting it. But another thing about Seokjin was that he was incredibly stubborn. He was so stubborn that even as the thought of potential regret crossed his mind he immediately pushed it away.

So maybe quitting his full time, well paying job to start a career as a streamer wasn’t his best decision. Yet, he did it anyway. He happily handed in his two weeks notice and started up a streaming account and assumed he would get viewers right away. After all, he thinks he’s hilarious. His mom thinks he’s hilarious. Yoongi sometimes chuckles at his jokes. So Seokjin assumed it would be a no brainer.

However, one month had passed and Seokjin was yet to get even a single viewer. Even Yoongi and his own mother refused to make an account to watch his content. But as said previously, Seokjin was stubborn. He was… extremely stubborn. So every morning he opened his (not equipped for) gaming computer and would get his lighting just right and make sure the camera was getting all his best angles. Then he would start playing whatever game he was in the mood for that day.

Yoongi had recently suggested he try out Stardew Valley after Seokjin’s failed attempt at playing Animal Crossing. (It wasn’t that he was bad at Animal Crossing, it was just that his one sided beef with Tom Nook was impacting his game play and he couldn’t get rid of an ugly villager). So Seokjin purchased the game with the last 20,000 won in his bank account, cracked his knuckles, and started up a stream.

“So Yoongi suggested I play this one.” Seokjin told his zero viewers as the game screen loaded. “He said maybe I’d be better at it than Animal Crossing, but once again, I’m not bad at Animal Crossing, Tom Nook just doesn’t match my vibe.”

Seokjin watched as zero comments from his zero viewers flooded in.

“Okay you guys.” Seokjin said enthusiastically as the introduction video to the game started playing. “I’m about to make the best farm any of these fuckers have ever seen. I’ll raise 500 chickens. A million horses. I’ll be so rich they all wonder what hit them. Jin Farm is going to take over the world.”

Seokjin looked closely at his screen to read the comments from his zero viewers. There were zero comments to read. Seokjin persisted.

“So this dilf is showing me my farm. God, there is so much to clean up. That is going to be a problem for another day, I think.” Seokjin shook his head in disbelief as he looked at all the weeds and sticks laying around his property. He couldn’t believe anyone in the town would let it get that bad.

Seokjin almost jumped when a notification popped up in the comments. He squinted. He stared at the singular comment. He looked at his viewers. There was a singular viewer.

jjk97games: did you just call mayor lewis a dilf?????????

“Yeah, that’s what I said. I’ve never played this game before. He’s a dilf until further notice.” Seokjin replied as he tried to remain perfectly normal after knowing that someone was actually watching his stream.

The viewer didn’t leave so Seokjin continued on talking.

“What am I supposed to do now? You distracted me and I have no idea what I’m supposed to be doing. Probably should clean up this mess, but I don't think I will.”

jjk97games: i distracted you???????

jjk97games: u were keyboard smashing to get passed all of the dialogue as quickly as you could

jjk97games: i actually think u did this to yourself idk

“Okay so since you’re so smart why don’t you tell me what I’m supposed to be doing?” Seokjin rolled his eyes at the comments.

jjk97games: the game literally tells u.

jjk97games: click the button at the top right corner omg

“Oh I’m supposed to introduce myself to everyone.” Seokjin nodded. “They don’t know what’s coming. I’m gonna find the hottest dilf in town.”

jjk97games: ok well its not going to be mayor lewis. hes taken

“Oh, but I have nothing against homewrecking. However, maybe I’ll just make every man in the game fall for me and then break all of their hearts.”

jjk97games: yeah ok u do that

jjk97games: do u actually want to know how to play bc ur stressing me out so bad

“You know what, jjk97games, you’re not the first person to say I stress them out. My mother and Yoongi also say that very often.”

jjk97games: who tf is yoongi

jjk97games: actually i dont wanna know

“Okay so here's my plan for the playthrough, since you’re dying to know.” Seokjin said as he watched his character run back and forth around the town square.

“I’m going to make every man fall in love with me. Then I’m going to get rich. Then I’m going to break their hearts.”

jjk97games: why am i watching this stream…

jjk97games: why are u like this

jjk97games: ur not going to make any money at this rate. u should clean up the farm. plant some seeds. build up your skills. and take down the greedy capitalists at joja mart.

Seokjin scoffed as he leaned in close to the camera as if to stare his viewer down.

“Are you Yoongi? Be honest.”

jjk97games: i still dont know who that is

jjk97games: ok fine ill just watch u crash and burn

Seokjin seemed satisfied with that comment because it implied that the viewer was going to stick around and continue watching his stream. Maybe his first ever viewer was a little shit, but it was still progress from the zero people who watched him play the day before.

The two of them continued bickering as Seokjin played and he actually found that he quite enjoyed the presence of someone heckling him as he played his game. He felt like he wasn’t playing alone, but that he actually had a friend there playing with him.

Not only that, but jjk97games stuck around for the entire five hour stream that Seokjin did. He continued commenting through it the entire time, too. Nobody else joined the stream the entire time and the two of them just chatted together.

“Alright, I think I have to get going.” Seokjin said just after the five hour mark of his streaming hit.

He had made just about zero progress in the game. Well, unless you count him trying to win over Willy the fisherman no matter how many times jjk97games tried to tell Seokjin that Willy wasn’t a marriage candidate (whatever that meant).

jjk97games: this was fun actually. even if u suck

jjk97games: do u have a streaming schedule?

Seokjin shrugged. “I stream everyday. I don’t have anything else to do.”

jjk97games: u dont have a job?

“This is my job, obviously.” Seokjin laughed nervously.

The chat was silent for a moment and Seokjin wasn’t sure if the viewer left or not despite the “1” still showing up under the viewer count.

jjk97games: oh! well ill continue to check out your streams then.

Thanks for that. Wow, I can't believe I have a fan now, I can’t wait to tell my mom and Yoongi.”

He was just saying goodbye to his viewer when a final notification popped up, one that Seokjin had never seen before. One he had never imagined he would ever see before.

jjk97games tipped 150,000 Won

Seokjin stared in stunned silence and was about to protest when he saw the view count had dropped to 0 meaning jjk97games had actually left.

He logged off of the site in a daze and immediately called Yoongi who, according to their shared google calendar that Yoongi had set up, was just leaving work.

“Please don’t start the conversation with ‘hear me out’ because I am one ‘hear me out’ away from blocking your number.” Yoongi said before even greeting Seokjin.

“No wait, I think I have a sugar daddy.”

Yoongi was silent. Seokjin was also silent.

“I’m sorry, what?” Yoongi laughed under his breath. “You have a what?”

“Yeah, someone was watching my stream and tipped me 150,000 won. I even checked my bank account and it’s actually in there.”

“Someone was watching your stream? Wait.”

Seokjin sighed. “Yoongi-yah. Do I have a sugar daddy or not? This is life or death.”

“Alright, so.” Yoongi started to say after a moment. “I don’t think this counts as a sugar daddy. However, maybe you’ve gotten yourself a rich viewer.”

“So a sugar daddy.” Seokjin replied, nodding to himself. “He was a brat, too. He kept arguing with me about how I was playing the game. I almost thought he was actually you at one point, but you don’t even have 150,000 won to send me.”

“Are you calling me broke?” Yoongi whined and laughed at Seokjin’s ‘yeah’ from the other end.

“Okay, but. It seems like he likes you enough to tip. Maybe he’ll continue watching your streams.”

Seokjin was about to reply when he got a notification on his phone that jjk97games had followed him on the streaming site.

“Oh, shit he followed me.” Seokjin muttered as he clicked the notification. “I’m going to stalk his account.”

Yoongi sighed fondly. “I have to go, hyung. Text me updates, though. Tell me if he’s hot.”

“You got it.” Seokjin replied, half listening to Yoongi because he was getting excited as his phone loaded jjk97games account.

Yoongi hung up just as the screen loaded so he missed the way Seokjin yelled “holy shit” when he saw the follower count that his viewer had.

jjk97games was not just anyone. He had a massive following.

Seokjin stared at the one million followers that were under the profile as if it would disappear. He also stared at the amount of people that the account was following which happened to be only 10, Seokjin now included in that.

Seokjin took a screenshot of the profile and sent it to Yoongi who replied with a million keyboard smashes that Seokjin reciprocated.

There were replays of his past streams and Seokjin’s heart pounded as he clicked on the most recent one. It was a collaboration video with three other streamers that Seokjin also didn’t recognize and they were playing mario party together.

The video was obviously from jjk97games point of view since it was on his profile and Seokjin’s heart leapt when he saw what his viewer looked like for the first time.

“Oh, fuck.” Seokjin muttered as he took him in.

His arms were covered in tattoos and he had a lip piercing that Seokjin simply couldn’t take his eyes off of. His hair was dark brown and chin length with just a little bit of wave to it. He had cute little bangs that fell over his forehead that he kept pushing out of the way.

“Hey, guys.” He said as he smiled at the chat, watching the comments flood in. “It’s a bit of a chill night so hyungs asked if I wanted to stream mario party with them.”

He talked so casually, as if everyone just knew who the “hyungs” were. As if they just knew how things normally went in his streams.

Seokjin looked at the chat. He had never seen so many people commenting on a stream before. Certainly not on his own streams.

lesbiansforjk: “hyungs asked” does this mean tae begged everyone to play mario party bc he lost last time

goldenkookie: JUNGKOOK WINNER

jungkookslipring: can u play minecraft again

vminsjk: another chaotic mario party stream… im so ready

Seokjin could hardly keep up with the chat. It looked like Jungkook was used to it because he replied to whatever he could as he got ready to call his friends so they could start playing together.

Seokjin could hardly believe that the person streaming in front of him was the person who had been bickering with him in his own chat. This person with one million followers was the one who had hung out with Seokjin for five hours straight.

Jungkook. That was his name, Seokjin deduced based on what everyone in the chat was saying. And Seokjin thought that Jungkook was the most beautiful person he had seen in his entire life.

Seokjin didn’t have anything better to do so he watched the stream while he made himself some lunch. He found that watching Jungkook’s streams felt like hanging out with a friend, just like his comments on Seokjin’s own stream had felt. Even though Jungkook was playing with three other people, he made an effort to include his chat and talk to everyone as if they were included in inside jokes.

Jungkook was competitive, and Seokjin found himself getting just as competitive and invested as Jungkook was. He cheered when Jungkook got the most coins in a mini game. He booed when one of Jungkook’s friend’s stole his stars.

Jungkook was extremely expressive too. His facial expressions showed exactly what was on his mind at all times, he was an extremely open book.

Seokjin laughed along with them as Jungkook taunted his friend Taehyung when he managed to steal coins from him. He shook his head when Jungkook landed on a bowser space. He yelled at the screen when Jungkook did a team game and he and his friend Namjoon absolutely bombed it.

Seokjin felt so alive watching the stream. He was never someone who needed a lot of friends in his life, he was always happy with having one extremely close friend who he could do everything with. He didn’t do well in social situations with a lot of people because his social battery drained quickly when there was too much attention on him.

But watching Jungkook’s streams… It made him understand why people enjoyed hanging out in groups.

When the stream ended, Seokjin found himself immediately clicking on another one. It was a solo stream and Seokjin watched the entire thing just as intently as he had watched the first one.

He understood why Jungkook had so many followers and people who kept up with him.

Before he knew it, the day was coming to an end and all Seokjin had managed to do for the entire duration of the day was watch old Jungkook streams. He had texted Yoongi so many screenshots from the streams and even gave him several play by plays to which Yoongi would reply every so often, supporting Seokjin’s new endeavor.

Becoming a fan of Jungkook was not a bad decision, in fact, it was maybe even a good decision. Jungkook was starting to inspire Seokjin in ways that Seokjin hadn’t even realized he needed. Jungkook was the type of streamer Seokjin dreamed of being, someone who loved what he was doing and made people fall in love with it as well.

Seokjin was just starting to make dinner, and had taken a break from watching Jungkook streams to facetime Yoongi as he cooked.

Yoongi was telling Seokjin about his neighbor who he had been pining after for months and Seokjin listened to the new development (his neighbor had waved at Yoongi as they passed each other leaving the complex).

“You should invite him over for dinner, maybe.” Seokjin said. It was the same advice he gave Yoongi every single time they talked about this. “Your cooking could win the heart of any man, not me though, I’m built different.”

“I would never be trying to win your heart anyway so that’s fine.” Yoongi rolled his eyes. “Besides, your heart already seems taken by that streamer you were screaming about in my texts all day.”

“First of all,” Seokjin said as he cracked a few eggs into a bowl and furiously mixed them. “He’s my biggest fan. I won his heart. I was merely giving back the love.”

“He’s your only fan.” Yoongi replied, making Seokjin burst out in laughter.

“If you and my mom weren’t such haters then I’d have three fans.”

“We enjoy being haters, thank you though.”

Seokjin was about to argue back but he got a notification that Jungkook had started a stream.

“Yoongi-yah I need to leave immediately. Jungkook is streaming.”

“But our dinner date!” Yoongi protested, pouting.

“Go ask your hot neighbor, I have to go.”

Seokjin hung up before Yoongi could whine anymore and immediately clicked into the stream. He wondered for a moment if Jungkook would find it weird that he was watching, but the thought left his mind immediately when he saw the blur of the chat coming in with people typing comments and trying to be noticed by Jungkook.

“Hey guys.” Jungkook said after a few moments of reading the flurry of comments. He grinned widely and Seokjin’s pounded.

“Hmmm today I was thinking we could play some Stardew again? I got inspired by watching someone play earlier.”

Seokjin gasped. Jungkook was talking about him. His hands hovered over the chat, wanting to type something, but not knowing what to say.

“I stumbled across this streamer earlier today. Honestly, I clicked on the stream because he was hot.” Jungkook giggled at that and Seokjin blushed.

“He was playing Stardew, but had clearly never touched the game before. Guys… He was so bad at it. I didn’t even know it was possible to be bad at Stardew Valley, but he managed to do it.”

Seokjin rolled his eyes because of course Jungkook was still going to be a brat about it.

“I actually watched the entire five hour stream, though. Despite being bad at the game he was really funny and I liked watching. The way he streams… It felt really refreshing? There’s nobody else who really does it like he does. I don’t know how to explain it.”

Jungkook paused, as if thinking about what else to say, and Seokjin held his breath.

“You should check him out though. His username is ksjgaming. I actually watched a lot of his older streams today after he finished the Stardew one and he seriously cracks me up. I’d recommend watching his Animal Crossing series.”

Seokjin’s mouth fell open at Jungkook’s confession. He had been watching Seokjin’s streams while Seokjin had been watching Jungkook’s. He liked Seokjin enough to go back and watch his Animal Crossing series.

Seokjin could hardly believe what he was hearing and he knew he needed to leave a comment. His hands hovered over his keyboard as he thought about what to say.

ksjgaming: hey u little shit . who are u calling bad at gaming? nobody is as good as me. im top tier

Seokjin watched as his comment got buried under the other ones that were coming in and he groaned.

He wasn’t sure how to get Jungkook’s attention after that.

“What?” Jungkook said suddenly as he squinted at the chat. “People are saying he’s in the chat? Are you here?”

Seokjin’s eyes widened.

ksjgaming: i heard u were talking shit

Jungkook laughed. “Oh my God, he really is in here. I told you that you were bad at the game earlier, this isn’t any different.”

Seokjin grinned as his face heated up. He was glad Jungkook couldn’t actually see him because he was sure his ears were bright red.

ksjgaming: ur just mad u can’t score Willy like i can

“I keep telling you that you can’t marry Willy! He’s not a marriageable candidate! I told you that a million times earlier!”

ksjgaming: u think that can stop me? ill have u know he finds my rod VERY impressive. fishing rod, i mean

Jungkook cackled at Seokjin’s reply and he felt really satisfied with himself. He liked being able to make Jungkook laugh.

“You’re too much. Wow, I can’t believe you’re watching my stream. I didn’t think you knew who I was.”

ksjgaming: i didn’t. u r just some rando that followed me earlier. i happened to see u were streaming now because i followed back and decided to watch.

Jungkook pouted. “I’m some rando? We spent five hours together earlier! I thought I was more to you than that.”

ksjgaming: thought id give ur streams a chance. theyre fine. could use some work. im willing to give you advice about making quality streams

“I can’t believe you’re just as annoying in my chat. Ah, you drive me crazy.” Jungkook whined, but his face still had a huge smile on it.

Seokjin read through the chat and was delighted to see that Jungkook’s viewers were calling their bantering “flirting”.

namkoolover: are we interrupting something

craftkook: right in front of my salad?????

lesbiansforjk: GAY PEOPLE????????

Seokjin laughed under his breath at how flustered Jungkook seemed as well.

“Well, I guess go watch his streams since he thinks he is the best this site has to offer. Sure, I’ll take your advice, I guess. Where can I reach you so that you can tell me about how I can improve my streams?”

Oh.

Oh.

Seokjin stared. His stomach was in knots. Jungkook was definitely flirting with him and Seokjin could absolutely not ruin his chances.

ksjgaming: hm. why don’t you send me a dm after your stream then and maybe ill give you my number

Jungkook’s face seemed a bit red and Seokjin couldn’t help but feel proud of himself for causing Jungkook to blush.

“Okay, sure.” Jungkook laughed airily. “I’ll do that.”

Seokjin grinned as Jungkook attempted to change the subject back to Stardew Valley and what he had actually turned on his stream to do. He stuttered over some of his words and cleared his throat a few times before getting back to how he usually was.

Seokjin wished he could fluster Jungkook like that in person.

He enjoyed the stream and commented a few more times during it, as Jungkook was clearly trying to show off his farm. He made a point to talk about how clean and neat it was and Seokjin knew that was for him specifically.

After about two hours, Jungkook decided it was time to turn off the stream and started saying goodbye to his viewers.

“I’ll see you all in a few days. I think Jimin hyung talked about doing a collab, but we’ll see.” Jungkook said, his voice soft as he looked over the chat.

“Alright, I’ll see you guys later. And to ksjgaming, look forward to a dm from me, if you’re still here.”

ksjgaming: waiting for it

Jungkook clearly saw his comment based on the giggle he let out and he quickly shut off the stream after that.

Seokjin was then surrounded by silence and he already missed the comfort that he got from Jungkook’s streams. He hoped he had been serious about dming him.

Seokjin stood up from where he’d been watching on his couch and stretched before heading to his bathroom to start getting ready for bed.

He was washing his face when his phone screen lit up with the dm message from Jungkook. Seokjin quickly dried his face and clicked in.

jjk97games: hey this is jungkook. idk if u were serious about me dming you or just messing around but i thought id shoot my shot anyway. i think ur rly funny and i liked hanging out with you today on both of our streams. though i think i liked it most when it was just the two of us on yours. i hope this isnt weird but i would like to get to know you better… i really liked talking to you today

Seokjin felt like he was vibrating as he read the message. Jungkook was interested in him.

He took a screenshot and sent it to Yoongi with a bunch of question marks. Yoongi replied instantly by saying, “message him back, idiot.”

Seokjin sighed and applied moisturizer to his face, trying to think about what to say to Jungkook.

He got himself comfortable in bed, pulled his sheets around him and stared at the message from Jungkook again.

ksjgames: hi! i did mean it when i said you could message me. i really liked hanging out with you today, too. i really had no idea who you were when you watched my stream this morning and after i stopped and saw you followed me i checked out your account. you said you spent your day watching my streams and i actually did the same with you. also… you really didnt have to send me 150,000 won.

Seokjin pressed send and threw his phone down before leaning back as far as he could into his pillow and stared up at his ceiling. He wasn’t sure where his conversation with Jungkook would go. He just hoped that Jungkook would want to continue talking to him.

He felt his phone buzz and he took a deep breath.

jk97games: u like my streams? hehehehe

jk97games: sorry ahhh u fluster me so easily… i kept messaging my friends about you earlier and they’ve been making fun of my crush on you all day

jk97games: wait

jk97games: what im trying to say is. im glad you checked out my streams after that too. i know i didn’t have to tip that much but… i remember what it was like when i first started out and it felt like no matter what you did, you couldnt get viewers. i know im a big streamer and i rly just want to be someone who can support smaller streamers as well. and you know… maybe… you can use some of the 150,000 i tipped you to treat me to dinner? if you’re interested… like.. as a date

Seokjin felt his face heat up for what must have been the millionth time that day. Jungkook was asking him on a date. Jungkook wanted to go on a date with him.

ksjgaming: deal. send me your number and we can plan something?

jk97games: okay :)

Jungkook sent Seokjin his number and the two of them planned to meet up for just coffee the next day. Coincidentally, and lucky for both of them, they lived close to each other. Close enough to find a meeting point that would be easy for both of them to get to. Seokjin insisted that he pay for whatever Jungkook got and told him that if he got there before him, he had to wait for Seokjin.

Seokjin fell asleep that night as he watched another one of Jungkook’s old streams. He thought he could get used to falling asleep to the sound of Jungkook’s voice.

The next morning, Seokjin sent a normal amount of stressed out messages to Yoongi before he finally decided enough was enough and facetimed Seokjin.

“Hyung. You sent fifty texts in the span of thirty minutes.” Was the first thing Yoongi said when Seokjin picked up the call. “Fifty texts!”

“Yoongi-yah. You need to tell me if the vibe is sweater or t-shirt.”

Yoongi groaned extremely dramatically but then told Seokjin to model both of them for him.

“Okay, definitely the sweater. It makes you look huggable.”

Seokjin narrowed his eyes at Yoongi. “What if I’m trying to be manhandled? What if that’s the vibe?”

“You’re going on a coffee shop date. There will be no manhandling.”

“Unfortunate.. you should see his arms…” Seokjin muttered as he put back on the sweater that Yoongi had suggested.

“I saw his arms in the millions of screenshots you sent me of his streams yesterday.” Yoongi complained as was usual for him.

“Besides, there is a different man I want to manhandle me.”

“Yeah your neighbor that you don’t even know the name of.” Seokjin said as he messed around with his hair.

“Actually!” Yoongi said, leaning in closer to the camera. “I found out his name is Hoseok.”

“Did you actually invite him to dinner?” Seokjin stopped touching his hair for a second because that was the most development Yoongi had in weeks.

“I passed by him again in the hall last night and he properly introduced himself because he said we see each other around a lot.” Yoongi said, sighing fondly.

“God, he wants you so bad.” Seokjin replied as Yoongi nodded.

“He does.”

“I have to get going.” Seokjin told him as he moved a small strand of hair, the smallest bit off his forehead. “Do I look hot?”

“You know you always do.”

“Yeah.”

Yoongi and Seokjin hung up as Seokjin put on his shoes and headed out the door to go meet Jungkook.

Seokjin hadn’t been on a date in a really long time, and had definitely not been on a date with someone quite like Jungkook. He thought Jungkook was special, and someone he really wanted to impress.

As he walked into the coffee shop, he spotted Jungkook almost immediately. He was sitting by himself in a corner and was wearing a short sleeve black shirt so Seokjin had the perfect view of his arms.

“I waited for you before ordering.” Was the first thing Jungkook said as Seokjin approached.

Seokjin’s heart soared. He waited.

“It’s nice to actually meet you in person.” Seokjin said. “We’re actually seeing each other at the same time instead of one of us being in a chat.”

Jungkook laughed as the two of them walked over to order their drinks. “Did you think we would be at this point a whole 24 hours after your Stardew stream yesterday?”

“You’re asking if I thought I would be going on a date with the user who was bullying me on my stream yesterday? Definitely not.”

“Bullying!” Jungkook gasped. “I was being helpful!”

“You were not letting me live my dilf hunter dreams.” Seokjin teased as Jungkook shook his head.

“How old are you anyway?”

“I just turned 27.” Jungkook said.

“Ugh. You definitely ruined my dilf hunter dreams. I’m turning 32. Does that make me the dilf?”

Jungkook rolled his eyes. “Do you have any kids?”

“No.”

“Then you’re not a dilf.”

Seokjin shrugged, not deterred. “I think dilf is a state of being.”

“Yeah, okay.” Jungkook said as he ordered his drink. “If you want to be a dilf, then you can be a dilf.”

“Wait. I wanted to hunt dilfs.” Seokjin pouted as they went back to their table after getting their drinks.

“Well I’m five years younger than you so good luck with that.”

Seokjin burst out laughing, causing Jungkook to smile at him.

“Okay, fair.”

“So aside from dilf hunting, what else do you like to do?” Jungkook asked playfully as he took a sip of his drink.

“Well I’m kind of known to make bad decisions. Most recently I quit my job to be a streamer and was able to get zero views in a month.” Seokjin figured he’d just get the worst of it out of the way.

“You’re supposed to build a following before you quit any type of job.” Jungkook replied. “I actually kept my job for as long as I could before doing streaming full time, but I understand why you’d want to get out of the corporate world.”

Seokjin nodded. “I kind of just do things on a whim and live with no regrets. And honestly, quitting my job led me to you so I really can’t complain.”

“Hyung! Wait, can I call you that? But seriously.. You’re too much…” Jungkook’s face was tinted pink and Seokjin realized that flirting with him in person was a million times better than doing it over chat.

“You can call me hyung. And I’m serious! I always tell Yoongi that things happen for a reason.  I quit my job and now I’m on a date with the hottest boy I’ve ever met.”

Jungkook buried his face in his hands for a moment before looking back at Seokjin. “And you’ve never once explained who Yoongi is! You bring him up all the time as if I’m supposed to know him. You mentioned him a million times in the Animal Crossing series. Is he your imaginary friend or what?”

“Imaginary friend!” Seokjin sputtered, trying not to absolutely lose it. “He’s my closest, real, friend. He’s also my biggest hater.”

“That makes sense considering what was said in the series. It’s a really good one, by the way. I’ve never seen anyone play Animal Crossing like… that… before.”

“You mean like a tyrant?” Seokjin asked and Jungkook shrugged.

“Yeah.”

“I do things how I want to do them.” Seokjin replied.

“I can tell. I really like that about you. It’s really refreshing.”

Seokjin smiled. “That’s just how I am. It rubs some people the wrong way, but I really just try to act on how I feel. If I feel like doing something, I’m going to do it. Like going on a date with you.”

“I hope you feel like going on more dates, then.” Jungkook replied.

“Absolutely. Like I said, there’s a reason we met. I like you a lot already, Jungkook.”

“I like you too, hyung. You know, a lot of people tell me that they like watching my streams because it feels like they’re hanging out with a friend. I never completely understood what they meant by that until I watched yours.”

“When I was watching your streams yesterday it seriously felt like we were on facetime.” Seokjin agreed. “I know exactly what you mean. I remember thinking that that’s how I wanted mine to feel like… So to hear you say that they do means a lot.”

“Your streams are addicting.” Jungkook assured him. “It takes a lot of time to grow a following as a streamer when there are so many out there, but I hope that maybe some of my viewers will check you out now.”

“Thank you for shouting me out like that yesterday.” Seokjin told him. “Your viewers seem cool. Maybe I’ll stream after I get home tonight and see if anyone is interested in a Stardew Valley stream.”

“If anything, I’ll always be your number one fan.” Jungkook said, and Seokjin knew his ears must have turned bright red from that statement alone.

The two of them sat in the coffee shop together for hours just chatting about anything and everything and getting to know each other. Seokjin learned about Jungkook’s other friends and the people he does collabs with, and Seokjin told Jungkook about Yoongi and his crush on his neighbor. Conversation flowed so naturally between the two of them and they could have sat there for the entire day just talking.

Seokjin thought that he would never get tired of hearing Jungkook’s voice.

Saying goodbye was hard, and Seokjin didn’t really want to and neither did Jungkook, but both of them had to head home.

“Can we meet up again soon?” Jungkook asked as they stood outside the coffee shop, not wanting to part.

“I want to see you again as soon as we are both free.”

Jungkook had a shy smile on his face. “Okay. I can’t wait to go on more dates with you. I really do like you a lot…”

“I like you a lot too, Jungkook. Text me when you get home, okay?” Seokjin replied.

Jungkook nodded. “Hyung, can I kiss you?”

Seokjin blushed but nodded anyway as Jungkook leaned in and pressed the softest of kisses against Seokjin’s lips.

It was an extremely quick and innocent kiss, but Seokjin thought it was perfect for their first. He thought he never wanted to forget what the feeling of Jungkook’s lips on his felt like.

When Seokjin got home, he got ready to do a stream. Jungkook texted him that he would be watching and Seokjin felt giddy at the thought of it.

He went through his normal process of setting up his lights and camera and turned on the stream. Sure enough, his first viewer was jjk97games as expected.

jjk97games: is that huge smile on your face because you saw me join your stream?

Seokjin shouldn’t be surprised that Jungkook started flirting immediately.

“No, it’s because I thought about how I’m finally going to marry Willy today.”

Seokjin could tell that Jungkook was pouting and he wished he could see his face.

jjk97games: liar. ik its bc of me

jjk97games: i miss you already.

“I miss you too.” Seokjin said, and he really meant it.

Seokjin noticed then that more people had started joining the stream. He watched as the number climbed as more and more people popped in, probably from Jungkook suggesting they do so.

It was everything Seokjin had dreamed of a month ago when he quit his job. It was everything he had wanted from this.

“Hey guys.” Seokjin said, mimicking Jungkook to the delight of a lot of his viewers.

jjk97games: hey! thats my greeting! get your own!!!!

“Okay, fine. Hey fuckers.”

jjk97games: hyung lmaoooo

jjk97games: god im down so bad

Seokjin laughed at Jungkook’s comments and knew that no matter how fast his channel was going to grow from then on, that Jungkook would always be his first and biggest fan.

Seokjin thought that maybe, he had finally made a good decision.
