Eventually, Ignis pulls away properly, and puts on a slight smile. He doesn’t look at Noct’s bright red lips or listen to his panting breaths. “I still need to cook dinner, you know.”
“R-Right,” Noct manages. “You, um, go do that.”
Noctis remains there on the floor of the tent, dazed but pleased, and Ignis can’t help but pat his knee affectionately before he leaves. It might not be to Ignis’ enjoyment, but for Noct’s happiness, he’ll repeat it a thousand times.
Prompto is in love with Noctis. Noctis is in love with Ignis. Ignis doesn’t have feelings for anyone, but what he does have is a very warped sense of boundaries and duty. And Gladio? Gladio just doesn't like the look of any of this.
