Summary
“I am not saying he’s in a relationship. Not exactly, anyway. Not yet. But a relationship does not happen overnight. It takes time to grow,” her mother says, lifting her arm to gesture towards the windowsill adorned with houseplants, “like a plant!”
“Mamá, not everything in life can be compared to plants.”
“Ah but it can.” she replies with a wistful smile on her face. “Now, I want you to finish your tea and then you’re taking me to see my favourite grandson.”
“Am I allowed to ask why?”
Her smile grows, a mischievous glint in her eyes. “I am going to show you why our beloved Edmundo is, in fact, not in the slightest bit lonely.”

or, it takes one isabel diaz to show pepa exactly why her efforts in getting eddie a date were unnecessary

Summary
“Is your birthmark genetic?” Bobby asked, raising his eyebrow at Buck over the salami he was slicing. “Does it match one of your parents?”
Buck spoke through the slice of salami he’d snuck into his mouth. “Nah,” he said. “I’m the first.”
“Maybe your kids will have it,” Hen suggested. “If you end up having kids.”
“Poor kids,” Chim said, patted Buck on the back. “I can not imagine that was a kind birthmark to wear during school. Kids are mean.”
Buck tried to laugh it off. Was filled with the cold memory of his classmates teasing him. He’d managed to bluster his way into popularity as a teenager - once he’d shot up and became broad in all the right places. But before that?
“Maddie - my sister - she always said I looked cool,” he said in an attempt at bravado. “I think - I think - I was fine.”
Or - another dad!Buck fic because I always love writing baby fics. Eventual Buck/Eddie.

Summary
They're all sat in the fire engine on the way back from the call and Chimney picks their conversation about first kisses right back up, asking Buck about his and Eddie realises two things.
One, that he is not as straight as he thought, and that has him panicking for a bit.
Two, that his feelings for his best friend aren't as platonic as he thought, which, surprisingly, doesn't scare him nearly as much.

Summary
"Sorry." Eddie heard himself speak as though it were coming from the other side of the room. "When you said guys, was that like ... a gender-neutral collective term, or ... do you mean a guy-guy?"
Buck paused and stared at him, confused. "I mean a ... guy-guy."Series

Summary
“You okay?” Buck asks, and Eddie blinks, lets out the breath that had gotten caught in his throat.
“Yeah,” he says, even though – no, not really. “Sorry, just – a surprise, I guess. Hearing from him.”
Which is weird, come to think of it, because they used to be close. Closer than anything, as close as – well, as close as him and Buck, but in a different way. In a way that felt frantic and clinging and desperate, something to hold onto while they were being shot at.
Eddie hears from an old army buddy; it brings a few things to the surface.

Summary
Like most things with Eddie are, the regular sex is good. Fun. A fucking delight to be honest.
Buck may be a bit lovesick and forced to hide needy whines like he is some dog trying not to be too cumbersome so his owner lets him stay, but he’s also more relaxed than he’s ever been, no matter the tension of his heavy love that only grows and grows and grows.
It’s fine.
Eddie bends Buck over the kitchen table and fucks him until he’s screaming, and it’s fine. Buck rides Eddie until he’s a babbling mess and his fingernails cut into Buck’s hip bones leaving marks Buck will trace later with a wretched wistfulness, and it’s fine. Eddie kisses Buck sweetly, finely, softly, as if that alone is enough, and it’s fine. Buck fingers Eddie until he comes all over himself, the sensation of his heartbeat basically in the palm of Buck’s hand, and it’s fine.
It’s all so very fine. Buck is fine.
or, buck and eddie become friends with benefits, get high, and confess their love in the stupidest and most endearing way possible.

Summary
“Dispatch 118, respond to a three-alarm structure fire located at 3400 East Main Street. This is a multi-story apartment building, fire started on the eighth floor and just started spreading to surrounding floors, and is rapidly progressing. Evacuation assistance is requested. Stations 136 and 133 are on scene, with the 122 en route.”
Eddie hesitated as he climbed in the truck behind Buck, who didn’t seem to register anything beyond the fact that it was an apartment fire.
“Bobby, what was the address?” Eddie asked as he slipped the headset on.
“3400 East Main Street,” Bobby replied, and by the tone of his voice, it seemed he recognized the address as well. Eddie glanced over to Buck, who was sitting across from him next to Ravi, his leg trapping Eddie’s against the door.
“Wait a second, did you say–”
“The loft.”
--
Or, the loft burns down and Buck moves into the Diaz house.

Summary
The thing Frank said in their first session that kind of stuck was that it’s okay if Shannon wasn’t the love of his life. It’s okay that he loved her, but he might love somebody else more in the future. Moving on is proof of growing.
So, that’s what Eddie has been doing. Moving on.
But then, that meant Eddie had to abandon the belief he should be finding Christopher a mother, and start thinking about what he wanted.
Which opened a whole new can of worms.
OR
On Buck's birthday, things start to look up. It's all uphill from there.
