Max opens his mouth and then closes it, looking away. What he did during last year was work his ass off and try to not give in to it. What he has done today - this weekend, in fact - is exactly the opposite. Working himself sick, pushing himself to exhaustion - it worked, for a while. Now it just feels like he’s drowning.
