After the disappearance of his sister, a young creature sets off on a journey to find her
Heavily platforming focused, be mindful of the physics if you are unfamiliar with Cave Story. There are two endings, Ending A and Ending B, it is up to you to decide which one is better. It isn't long, and can be completed in anywhere from under an hour to just 15 minutes.
This mod was developed in the span of a week for Modfest 31, a bi-monthly Cave Story modding event.

Although this is built on the engine of the 2004 version of Cave Story, it is completely standalone and does not require your own copy. Just extract the zip and run CASCADE.exe.
This was made for and only playtested on Windows, there will likely be compatibility issues (particularly related to the DLL Mod Loader and its music playback) if run through Wine on Mac/Linux.

Is there any way to change the controls? I have a controller plugged in and it DOES work, but the controls are backwards. I would use Joy2Key but doesn't work because when a controller is recognized by the game, it disables keyboard.
you need the DoConfig program that comes packaged with the freeware version of Cave Story. put it in the folder with your install of this game and use it to set the controls to your liking.
sorry for the trouble, Cave Story basegame is really weird with controller; you could try pressing F5 so the game reads from keyboard
There is also DoConfig, I forgot if there are any options there that would help in this case
Very Nice. Maybe an ending C where we can battle the Cascade Keeper or whoever is responsible.
How do you save? I have never played Cave Story before but this mod is cool, I had to figure out the controls.

the next step is hinted towards at the first step if you check it twice. it should be straightforward from there
