This is my entry for Frosted Game Jam 2024 (site only in Finnish), a local game jam happening in Rovaniemi, Finland. The game could still use some major balancing and so on, who knows what'll happen in the future.

In this game, you’re given an inventory of letter tiles and tasked with filling increasingly large crossword puzzles. You can create words in both directions, even from right to left, and you’re rewarded for forming smaller words before completing an entire row or column.

However, be careful! Any letter that isn't part of a word by the end of the level will clutter your inventory with annoying brick tiles, which are difficult to remove. If your stack of tiles grows too high, you lose!

You can also shop for extra letters or power up your existing ones. These power-ups might reward you with more currency or help clear the puzzle area, allowing you to form bigger combos.

The breaker ability bugs because when I make a word and its ability activates to destroy a brick it bugs out and makes the placed letter go up (for me) and makes it impossible to make words or even progress in general.

It also bugs when I don't even make a word and I just place it

Love the game! Though there seems to be a bug where if I press the x on the top left of the screen the game screen goes black, I assume it's supposed to take me to the Main Menu or something alike. It happens even if I refresh the page.

It's a quit button so yeah, it's pointless on browser version. Should probably hide it or make it go back to main.

I think vastavoma has a problem when playing a letter gives you the same letter.

So it's "when you play X, you get Y". But sometimes X can be the same as Y.

I had it with when you play S you get S, but the number of tiles I got from it kept increasing.

Here we are

Oh right, that's definitely a bug. It should be 1:1 even if it's the same letter. For some reason the spawned letters don't get the correct colors either in that video...

Do you secrety have two vastavomas? On the same letter?

No. This is visible in the video too.

Wonderful game, though I feel like discarding letters is rarely ever useful if it ends the round immediately? why would you do that instead of just placing it in the available boxes?

So the intention was you'd be able to discard some hard letters and thus lowering the stack height before a level change. What do you mean it ends the round immediately? It shouldn't do that...

It brings me to the shop right away without being able to place anything after the letter

Not quite sure what uou mean...

Are you discarding the letter or completing the grid?

Edit: Oh This

Weird, looks like if you discard when there is only one more spot left, it triggers the ending. But seems to work correctly when there are more spots left.

This was amazing! It was so relaxing and really lifted my spirits! :)

Challenging and fun.  I see there isn't a high score; you just keep playing until you get a game over.

i got a modifier that makes it so whenever i make a word with e it destroys some letters or something, the i placed r and when i placed e to its right the e just fell out of the line you place in and i couldn't touch it

other than that nice game.

Like the game. When I press the X the screen becomes black. Is this the expected behaviour?

Well, yes. It's a quit button and pretty useless on the web build.
