In sosiologie en in politieke wetenskap, verwys die term Die Gevestigde Orde na die dominante sosiale groep, die élite wat 'n staatsvorm, 'n organisasie of 'n instelling beheer. In die praktyk van mag, is Die Gevestigde Orde is gewoonlik 'n self-seleksie, geslote elite wat in spesifieke instellings verskans is — dus kan 'n relatiewe klein sosiale klas alle sosio-politieke beheer uitoefen.[1]
