Prime Minister witnessed the signing of two agreements for SCZONE’s projects in Sokhna and East Port Said
SCZONE participated in the Egyptian-European Investment Conference, under the patronage and honor of His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of Egypt, and Ms. Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission, and with the high-level participation of representatives of the Egyptian government, the European Union, multilateral institutions and the private sector from both sides, under the slogan "Unleashing Egyptian Potential in a Rapidly Changing World"
This is to discuss several axes, most notably promoting innovation, economic leadership, sustainable development, and ways to attract investment to Egypt in green energy, automotive, logistics, pharmaceutical industries, and others.
Mr. Walid Gamal El-Din, Chairman of SCZONE, began SCZONE's participation in the activities of the two-day conference, by participating in a panel discussion entitled "Industrial Center: Untapped Potential", which was moderated by Mr. Rami Rafi, Direct Investment and Economic Zones Expert at BCG Group, in the presence of Mr. Wagner Albuquerki, Global Director of Agribusiness and Forestry at the International Finance Corporation (IFC), and Mr. Stephen Yogalingam, General Manager of the Suez Canal Company for Container Terminals SCCT. Logistics, the potential of SCZONE and its success partners.
SCZONE's Chairman participated as well with Dr. Mohamed Shaker, Minister of Electricity, participated in a session entitled "Renewable Energy and Green Hydrogen: The Opportunity of the Whole Value Chain", moderated by Mr. Francesco Palmieri, General Manager and Senior Partner of BCG Group, and in the presence of Mr. Ayman Soliman, Chairman of the Egyptian Sovereign Fund, Mr. Geert van Koopman, Director General of the Directorate of Neighborhood and Enlargement Negotiations (NEAR) at the European Commission, Ms. Diete Jules Jorgensen, Director General of Energy at the Commission, and CEOs of Scatec and C2X Maersk, Fertiglobe, Infinity Group, Copelouzos Group (GREGY), and a representative of ENGIE, discussed the opportunities and challenges associated with the deployment of renewable energy generation and the growth of Egypt's emerging hydrogen industry.
