Powerful combination🤝🏼   This project in Vraňany, Czech Republic, combines a 20 MW/25 MWh #battery storage system (BESS) with gas turbines for a total output of over 50 MW. Today we published our #HalfYear2024 results.    🔹Sales of €759.3 million (H1 2023: €778.9 million)   🔹Order backlog of €1.35 billion (H1 2023: €2.45 billion)   🔹EBITDA of €80.6 million (June 30, 2023: 125.3 million euros)  🔹Slight improvement in equity ratio to 42.6% (December 31, 2023: 42.3%)  🔹Managing Board confirms revised 2024 guidance    Developments in the first half of 2024 were solid for SMA despite a volatile market environment. The Large-Scale & Project Solutions segment continues to record above-average operational development.   In the Home Solutions segment and in the Industrial & Commercial Solutions segment, a market recovery is being delayed, however. The high inventory levels at dealers and installers are impacting incoming orders. This is due to lower electricity prices, which are leading to postponed investments and correspondingly subdued end demand. Overcapacity on the part of Chinese manufacturers also continues weighing on the market.   SMA is responding to the situation with a variety of sales activities. Round-the-clock power supply Together with RePower Ukraine Charitable foundation, SMA has delivered a solar storage solution to the Brovary Multidisciplinary Clinical Hospital which can now cover half of its energy needs with solar power. Equally important is the integrated backup power function, which provides reliable power at night and during power outages that affect the hospital - extremely critical as it includes children's wards, infectious disease wards and maternity wards. Work first, run later 🏃♀️🏃♂️🏃♂️ The DAK-Gesundheit corporate run brings colleagues together outside of work, promoting team spirit and health. Almost 950 runners started to run the 5.3 kilometer course. With 167 participants, SMA was at the top of the list of participating companies. For Rudi Birnbach from Company Sports, the event is one of the highlights of the year. Because what could be better than to see beaming faces in SMA jerseys at the finish line? Proud to be in the Top 10! 😊 The new Purpose Readiness Index (PRI) from GLOBEONE – Transform to Better evaluates how effectively companies demonstrate their positive impact on society. Globeone's comprehensive purpose study on the credibility of German brands assessed over 170 companies, rated by consumers on future viability, sustainability, authenticity, and social relevance. The results reveal that only about 10% of the surveyed companies and institutions are currently well-positioned to credibly communicate their positive societal contributions. We are therefore very happy that SMA has reached a very good result. Many thanks to all employees who contribute to this on a daily basis. 

Flood! How to deal with the solar system? In general, solar systems do not pose any particular hazards during floods. However, caution is advised since many solar systems have solar and battery inverters as well as battery storage units—the electrical components of the systems—located in the basement, which is where the water collects. PV modules, inverters, string distributors, battery storage units, DC plugs, and cables that have been flooded or damaged by water can pose a danger. Very important: Never put yourself at risk. SMA advises system operators to always contact their installer or an electrical professional first.
