Officials and leaders from the UAE delegation at the United Nations High-Level Political Forum (HLPF) on Sustainable Development 2024 in New York affirmed the UAE's strong commitment to enhancing international cooperation to achieve global sustainable development goals. In statements following their participation, they emphasised the importance of continued efforts to accelerate the implementation of these goals.

At the conclusion of the United Nations High-Level Political Forum (HLPF) on Sustainable Development 2024 in New York, the UAE delegation affirmed the country’s commitment to a flexible and evolving cooperative model, which aims to enhance partnerships, facilitate knowledge exchange, and promote fruitful and sustainable development globally. The UAE supports the achievement of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals for 2030 and looks forward to future prospects for sustainable development that benefit individuals, societies, and the planet.

The Government Accelerators in the Prime Minister’s Office, within the Ministry of Cabinet Affairs, have launched ‘acceleration cohort’ to support the Zero Government Bureaucracy (ZGB) programme. This initiative includes two key work methodologies: the first aims to "accelerate decision-making within 100 hours" and addresses four main challenges with the involvement of teams from over 30 federal and local government entities. The second focuses on "accelerating implementation within 50 days" and tackles eight main challenges with the participation of teams from more than 42 federal and local government entities.

The Ethiopian capital, Addis Ababa, hosted the launch of the “5 Million Ethiopian Coders” initiative, which is part of broader efforts to enhance bilateral cooperation between the UAE and the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia in the fields of modernisation and government development. It was introduced last August, less than a year after the signing of the partnership agreement during the visit of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE.

During the United Nations High-Level Political Forum (HLPF) on Sustainable Development 2024 in New York, the Government Experience Exchange Office of the UAE government organised a roundtable discussion on the role of building and expanding bilateral strategic partnerships in accelerating the achievement of SDG 17, which has global consensus for 2030. The UAE delegation showcased the country’s pioneering model of partnerships, demonstrating its sustainable impact on government operations, economic growth, and societal development. 

During its participation in the United Nations High-Level Political Forum (HLPF) on Sustainable Development 2024 in New York, the UAE delegation organised a first-of-its-kind session on the importance of global partnerships with governments and international organisations for achieving the 2045 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The Government Experience Exchange Programme (GEEP) of the UAE Government launched an achievement report as part of the UAE’s delegation participation at the UN High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development 2024.

The Future Government Leaders Programme in the Arab World, the region's largest initiative to empower young Arab government leaders, has announced the launch of its second cohort. This pioneering programme, a partnership between the UAE government and the Arab Administrative Development Organization (ARADO) at the League of Arab States, aims to prepare 42 young Arab leaders. The programme focuses on equipping them with future skills and enhancing their readiness to manage upcoming transformations through an advanced educational approach.

The Mohammed Bin Rashid Centre for Government Innovation (MBRCGI), in partnership with the Supreme Committee for Urban Planning, Dubai Municipality, and Furjan Dubai, successfully hosted its first engaging workshop to activate the Dubai Urban Design Platform Urban Planning in Dubai, the city’s first AI-powered platform for urban planning. 

The UAE delegation to the United Nations (UN) High-Level Political Forum (HLPF) on Sustainable Development met with the UN’s Deputy Secretary-General on Wednesday to discuss how to accelerate progress on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) over the next six years.
