Smiles and a happy customer as our #windturbine #generator and #gearbox experts Jeroen Martens, Maarten Aelaerts and Olivier Van Oost complete meticulous #EndOfWarranty inspections, assessments and reports on 11 offshore WTs for Norther. After all the climbing and mission management of the inspections safely performed in February, with observation discussions, final documentation and project objectives since achieved, we salute all for a top job! Special thanks from our team and Elmar Knauf who introduced us, to the Norther team for its unwavering trust and cooperation throughout the project. Particular credit to Gino Lampaert WTG Package Manager, Technical Director Bjorn Reynaert and Deputy Technical Director Bram De Baere for an excellent collaboration. 

June 5 saw the⚡kick-off⚡of #BatFactory – a Walloon Region initiative behind projects and R&D to drive local🔋battery production for energy storage and collective/business use and support. Of course we were there! The #BatFactory project portfolio has the backing of Minister Willy Borsus, Vice-President of Wallonia (and Minister of Research & Innovation among other influential posts) with the intention of positioning #Wallonia as a major actor in this sector. Drawing on the R&D expertise of the region, all Walloon Universities and several R&D groups are also contributing partners. Laborelec, certainly as an R&D center but also as a company already active in the field able to offer operational expertise, was invited to present expectations from a user perspective. In this context, Cyril Daniels, our Business Development Manager Storage, gave a key kick-off presentation giving the operational point of view of asset managers and the importance of large-scale battery management and associated data digitalization. Now with everyone charged-up and ready to go, we look forward to all the action! Go #BatFactory! Thank you UNamur - Recherche for the invitation and the organization of this great event.

#VIVATECH ’24, May 22-25, Paris, our #battery #storage team, at the ENGIE Research & Innovation booth, was charged-up and ready to exchange with all visitors; including ENGIE CEO Catherine Fiamma MacGregor. Participating in Europe’s biggest start-up and tech event geared to accelerating innovation, the team focused on the latest developments of our #energy #storage Lab and recent Redox-Flow industrial pilot with Invinity Energy Systems. But anything #battery related, from emerging technologies to operational excellence for Li-ion, was equally up for passionate discussion... Also present, our desalination expert Marie-Laure Thielens presented our #desalination research program and a recently built desalination testing platform in the Middle East. Installed in an existing ENGIE desalination plant, as explained to the audience, this asset is the cornerstone of our program to test and de-risk new technologies.
