Success against counterfeiting!  In March 2023, our colleagues at ebm-papst China received a complaint from a customer who had received 40 ebm-papst fans that appeared unusual compared to previous purchases.  Our Patent Department, led by Ralf Duckeck, promptly launched an investigation and obtained suspected counterfeit samples for a side-by-side comparison with genuine ebm-papst fans. Later, the counterfeit producer was traced to a Guangdong factory specializing in refurbishing and selling these imitation fans. On August 4th, local authorities conducted an inspection of the suspected factory, seizing 149 fans and 260 labels on-site. After verification, the government imposed administrative penalties on the infringing factory, ordering an immediate halt to the infringement, confiscation of all counterfeit products and illegal gains, and imposing a fine of 20,000 RMB. Congratulations to Ralf for the success in this anti-counterfeiting operation!
