As part of DoH's ongoing efforts to empower healthcare professionals to advance in their chosen fields, we are thrilled to announce the admission of 505 medical trainees into our Medical Education Programme this year. In line with the national Emiratisation goals, the programme has accepted all 294 UAE national applicants. Through this initiative, DoH aims to caltivate a sustainable, self-reliant healthcare workforce by providing world-class training opportunities to medical graduates in various specialties, thereby highlighting the capabilities of Abu Dhabi’s healthcare ecosystem, and reinforcing its leading position on a global level. #AHealthierAbuDhabi #Healthcare

Under the patronage and attendance of His Highness Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Family Care Authority has partnered with the Abu Dhabi Early Childhood Authority, the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi, the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department, and the Abu Dhabi Police to establish and operate the Child Centre in Abu Dhabi, aiming to enhance the child protection system in the emirate. The Child Centre exemplifies integrated care by providing a comprehensive array of services focused on child protection, health, and holistic family support. In the presence of H.E. Mansoor Ibrahim Al Mansouri, Chairman of the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi, IROS company has signed an agreement with the International Huntington’s Disease Association and Prilenia Therapeutics to launch a clinical trial for Huntington’s disease (HD), a genetic disorder that leads to the degeneration of neurons in the brain, causing severe cognitive and physical decline. This trial is the first-ever in the UAE and MENA region, using Prilenia’s investigational drug, pridopidine, aiming to raise awareness about HD and help bring innovative treatments to support patients and their families in Abu Dhabi and beyond. The agreement was signed at the DoH stand during the BIO International Convention 2024, that recently concluded its events in San Diego, USA.
