Every year in June, we observe World Blood Donor Day to highlight the importance of blood donation and encourage more people to become donors. This year's theme, "20 years of celebrating giving: thank you blood donors!" highlights two significant aspects. Firstly, it is an opportunity to express our gratitude to those who voluntarily donate blood, whose selfless acts save countless lives and form the backbone of a safe and secure blood supply. Secondly, it marks 20 years of raising awareness and promoting blood donation, offering a chance to reflect on the progress, acknowledge challenges and celebrate the dedication of blood donors, blood centers and organizations working tirelessly in this field. To commemorate this initiative and as part of our Corporate Social Responsibility efforts, Arabian Packaging organized a blood donation camp on 25th June in collaboration with Dubai Health Authority. This camp aimed to support children with Thalassemia, a condition that requires lifelong transfusion support. During the campaign, 42 employees from various departments donated blood, demonstrating their unwavering support and commitment. At Arabian Packaging, we recognize the significance of this initiative and always encourage our employees to participate. By donating blood, you have the power to save lives and make a positive impact on our community. Organizing an in-house donation campaign made it easier for donors and was evident in the excellent support we received from all employees. We extend our appreciation to the employees and to our internal coordinators who contributed their time and efforts in making this blood donation campaign a big success. Your generosity and compassion have made a significant difference in the lives of these children, giving them hope and strength in their journey toward a healthier future. As part of our commitment to sustainability, Arabian Packaging joined millions of people around the world in celebrating the Earth Hour.   On 22nd March, our team participated in Earth Hour by collectively switching off electric lights across our office premises for one hour, highlighting our commitment to environmental responsibility. We extended this initiative to our employee accommodation on 23rd March, with lights turned off for half an hour. In the spirit of Ramadan, Arabian Packaging hosted its annual Iftar at the Copthorne Lakeview Hotel on Thursday, 14th March. As part of our Corporate Social Responsibility initiative and in line with the Group’s unwavering commitment to supporting people of determination and students with special needs, our employees and their families participated and volunteered in the annual 'Al Noor Family Fun Fair' held on 25th February’24.   This annual event, organized by the Al Noor Rehabilitation & Welfare Association for People of Determination, raised funds dedicated to helping students at Al Noor diagnosed with physical and cognitive conditions such as Cerebral Palsy, Down Syndrome and Autism.   The Al Noor Family Fun Fair featured engaging activities, including fairground rides, a kid’s village, painting and quiz competitions, face painting, zumba, music and dance contests, bouncy castles, as well as exclusive discounts on food, drinks, books and more.   Our employees from various entities within the Al Ghurair Group ensured the smooth and organized execution of the event. A special acknowledgment goes to the outstanding volunteering team from Arabian Packaging. Their contribution, enthusiasm and teamwork ensured in making this CSR initiative a success.
