All aviation industry professionals at one or another step in their career facing the examinations process. First examinations, before applying for your initial license, are filled with stress, anxiety and sleepless nights in front of training manuals. Even though, no matter how well you are prepared, stress and worrisome play it’s role, making negative impact on your examination process. - How to prepare better for the exam? - Which sources may be helpful? - What to consider and how to perform at your best? Here are some advices helping you to perform better during your basic modules’ examinations: 1. Start from the easiest modules. The easiest modules considered to be Module 1 and Module 2, which are based on the general school knowledge of the mathematics and physics. Modules 7 includes 2 essays and MCQ (multiple choice questions), which considered as one exam. Module 10 – Aviation legislation, which includes documents, annexes, appendixes and regulatory procedures study. Better leave these modules for later, when feeling more confident! 2. Consistency. Dedicate enough time on the regular basis. Studying when you have “a mood” – won’t be beneficial. 3. Ask your colleagues to help you with the preparation, asking you questions from the training manuals. 4. Use e-sources to identify your gaps. The most common resource to check your readiness is http://part66.blogspot.com 5. Do not use other organizations training manuals. Examination questions are based on the training manuals of the organization, thus other, than provided training manuals, may not include all the necessary information or misguide you. 6. Group up. If you are joining with your group, it will be easier to assign the schedule for your training sessions together, so that to clarify the questions, share the thoughts and help each other on cross-check sessions or understanding more complicated topics. 7. Rest well. Good rest and quality sleep will help you to be more focused during exam and attentive. 8. Unplug. When you are studying, put aside your phone and mute your notifications. Social media notifications may wait for a while. 9. Don’t rush. Even though you are aiming to pass your examinations efficiently and in the shortest period, but don’t rush yourself – make sure you understand the topic and ready to pass your exam. Pushing yourself into short time frames will increase stress and decrease your performance. 10. Don’t worry! And finally, don’t worry. You will be absolutely fine!
