ANTONOV Airlines has once again delivered on its promise of excellence, collaborating with CEVA Logistics to transport a crucial 40-tonne cargo for the European Space Agency's “Hera” spacecraft mission. This high-stakes journey covered a path from #Cologne-#Bonn, #Germany to #Titusville, #USA, showcasing the unparalleled capabilities of the AN-124-100M (150) aircraft! Here’s why this mission stands out: Seamless Load & Unload: With the AN-124-100M’s back ramp and on-board cranes, no extra ground equipment was needed to load Hera’s container! This streamlined setup ensured a smooth and quick onloading process. Spacecraft Mission Ready: Hera, equipped with cameras, a spectrometer, and two CubeSats, is destined to study the asteroid system impacted by NASA’s DART mission. Every step of its journey required extreme precision to maintain critical temperature, G-force, and safety parameters. Teamwork to the Stars: From the pilots to the technical crew, ANTONOV’s team worked hand-in-hand, demonstrating high-level expertise. Ceva Logistics’ Aerospace Special Projects Coordinator, Alexander Rosenthal, praised the crew's dedication and outstanding communication. At the heart of this mission is the quest for universal knowledge and safety. “Regarding your service. Your crew performed very well! They were prepared and knew what to do. High class work! American Airlines Cargo recently played a key role in relocating Lucy, a 16-year-old Bengal tiger, from the Eco Park in #Mendoza, #Argentina, to The Wildcat Sanctuary in #Minnesota. This heartwarming mission demonstrates the power of logistics, teamwork, and compassion in supporting animal welfare. Here’s how the journey unfolded: Miles on the Road & in the Sky: Lucy’s journey started with a 750-mile truck ride from Mendoza to Buenos Aires, followed by an 11-hour American Airlines Cargo flight to JFK, and ended with a 1,200-mile drive to her new sanctuary home. Partnership for Animal Welfare: This relocation was made possible by coordination between American Airlines Cargo, Intermodal, and the Mendoza Ministry of Energy and Environment, all committed to giving Lucy a safe trip to a better life. A Long-Awaited Rescue: After three years of securing permits and overcoming challenges, Lucy’s journey marks a victory for animal rights, with American Airlines Cargo previously helping rescue other animals in need. “It was an honor for American to provide our services to aid in Sandra’s relocation back in 2019 and we are just as proud to have been able to play our part in the re-homing of Lucy to a more suitable environment. Our teams worked in tandem with staff from the sanctuary team to make sure everything ran like clockwork, and we look forward to following Lucy’s story,” said Indy Bolina, Head of Global Sales for American Airlines Cargo. The new facility will have a storage capacity of 75,000 pallets. Set to be completed by Q3 2025, it’s designed for spare parts of all sizes, with data-driven automation to streamline processes. This strategic investment supports the booming demand in the #automotive and #aerospace sectors.
