This is awesome, is there any way to financially support the development of this game??

I am already in love with this, hope you continue!

Blinx if it had PS5 Graphics:

I swear I've never seen a fan project this good, I've never felt a game this smooth. I love the models and the visuals are a major step up from the original. GOD tier game my dude, thank you/

Awesome remake, enjoyed it a lot! Can't wait to see more from it and get to play more!

Please continue working on this, I've wanted to play this game again for ages since I had it when I was a kid

if you are a real blinx fan and want this project to be completed?

GIVE MONEY

please keep doing this its awesome!

This is amazing.

This is absolutely fantastic. I would love to see a full blown release. Great work! My only request really is button customization.

thank you SO MUCH! i thought i'd never play this game again!

last time i played was when i was too young to understand objectives in games other than boss fights.

Shockingly well made for a fan project! I urge you to continue this. I'd say it will be C&D'd if ever an official remaster comes, but even Gex is getting a remaster while our boy Blinx languishes in the forgotten shadows, so I'd wager you're in the clear. Don't listen to crits of the art style, they didn't play the original. The OG Blinx was graphically ostenatious as it was something of a showpiece for the Xbox hardware, what you've done with the exaggerated bloom, parallax maps and so forth is true to the original stylistic vision. One tiny nitpick: The water should stay disturbed if you wade through it with time paused. Other than that I see little to gripe about, this is truly a gem.

For some reason the boss in stage 4 doesn't appear... Is that supposed to happen?

I have a few suggestions.

  • Consider turning roughness up and metalness (or whatever Unity's PBR texturing system uses) down on most materials, with metalness at almost nothing for most materials, at the maximum value for metallic surfaces, and somewhere inbetween for rusted surfaces. As it stands, a huge amount of your materials look way too smooth and shiny for the surfaces they're supposed to represent, which gives them this overly glossy, fake feeling.
  • Tying into this is the glow from Time Square's house windows. It's frankly way too strong, and having all these shiny stone and brick surfaces near them makes them stand out even more.
  • Sometimes the scale of levels and trash is off. Deja Vu Canals' first level particularly stand out here, as there's walls that formerly towered over Blinx but now look as though they'd be quickly scaled if only you could stack trash more reliably. This part could be just my imagination, might not be, but perhaps you should look into some existing Blinx model extractors and try to compare their output with your work.
  • Finally, I really liked touches like bells ringing when you shoot them, but some world elements are frankly too animated. Giant clocks, lamps, and the like sway wildly and dramatically in a way that makes them look arbitrary and weightless. Toning this down or limiting it only to very light objects would make the game world feel a lot more solid and make the animated parts stand out in a good way.

I hope this isn't taken as me being too harsh. You're definitely on the right track, and I'd encourage you to continue working on this. The short version for most of this (outside scale issues) is that I think a little visual restraint and some simple tweaks would go a long ways towards making this look way, way better, if that makes any sense.

If you press the numbers you will get crystals

I Know it's just a prototype but are all levels in the prototype? Is it "complete"... what's missing?

7.3/10 too much bloom. Haven't played yet, but looks epic, and also like a "Hire This Man" Unreal Engine demo.

Insanely awesome project. Can't even remember the last time I smiled this freaking hard. Thank you

Doesn't run all that well, and lacks options to lower the graphics

For sure a you issue. My pc runs it perfectly at max graphics, and i dont even have a high end pc.

A really AWESOME remake, a bit rough here and there. please don't abandon this project!

1. This is amazing.

2. I had some issues with my controller. I use a DS4 and need to run games through steam to get controller support working, but that usually works for third party games fine. Most stuff worked here, but  the triggers didn't let me sweep up trash. Very well may be on my end, but no harm reporting a bug

3. This is AMAZING!

I'm hoping that you can get a team together and/or you can continue this project.

I really would pay good money to keep supporting this.

For some gripes, I'd like to add in that if you keep moving up against a wall while Blinx is in a jumping state, he will claw at the wall before slowly falling down, just like an actual cat would.

And, if you make it to Deja Vu Canals, I also want to add that whenever Blinx is in his swimming state, he puts his goggles over his eyes.

Thank you again for putting this on PC!

Pleas continue with this remake its do dam awsome,  would love to see more. Blinx is life.

This is a phenomenal remake, quite simply amazing. You are an extremely talented individual and I hope you realize it, I'd absolutely love to work on this for free in any capacity.

Howdy, just wanted to say that the work you did on this demo is amazing!

I was curious if this game was a 32bit or 64bit game? Mainly because I run an ARM PC, and x64 emulation is very spotty.

It would mean a lot that if future releases (if you do get more support), you can add 32-bit and/or ARM64 windows support. But other than that, great job!

Had to make an account just to comment: this is a phenomenal demo! The visual updates look amazing, and the gameplay is replicated nearly 1:1, I really do hope you'll continue on with this!

Only played so much of Blinx back in the day, but it was enough to know this was a really well done recreation. From the models and map to the smooth running mechanics, it felt almost like the real deal.

Good job, dev. Even if you don't do more with it, it was fun.

it looks really good, you put a lot of love and effort on this, good job

EEEEEEEEEEEEEE

I knew of Blinx from way back but I hadn't actually played the original so I couldn't really make comparisons but I still really enjoyed checking this out. I would definitely play more! 😁

Something that needs to be fixed: When you mash the spacebar between 2 walls at the end of the stage the lighting gets bright and flashes constantly, this made me have a seizure but otherwise beautiful recreation

How does this look so amazing and is less than 100 mb?

Blinx, my boy. My son. (Def gotta try this)

Amazing atmosphere! It just really looks good. Had a bit of a trouble getting familiar with the controls but everything else is pretty cool.

Pretty neat!

Absolutely pogged out of my damn skull.

Absolutely mind blowing, looks so beautiful
