Some brightfield optimizations give a runaway value for the x bounds. Using a minimizer that respects bounds (SLSQP) might help, but since Powell always yields the best results it might be worth looking at wrapping bounds for Powell minimizer if the freindly people over at Symfit won't implement this feature. ;)
